he is one of many big name players not meeting their expectations. when this happens, you get less points and your chances of winning are diminished. i would venture to say that all of us who have underperforming players share in your frustration and wish these players would generate more points. with more production comes more wins and with more wins comes more happiness.

Willie Parker is the classic example of a guy having a solid NFL Season (2nd in the NFL in rushing), but, not performing in fantasy football. He is not getting many touchdowns and not being used in the passing game like I expected he would be.

Prior to this season, I said that there were two weapons not being utilized enough in the Steelers offense. The first was throwing the ball more to Heath Miller, the Steelers have complied on that one. The 2nd was to use Willie Parker in the passing game. He can be extremely dangerous in open space. It still amazes me that the Steelers don't take advantage of this weapon, which is there for them.

Though Parker is not meeting your expectations, I think telling him to jump off a cliff is a bit extreme. This may come as a shock to you, but, his job is to help the Steelers win football games, not to help Robert Terni win games.......... :D

But, they have opened up the passing offense which was stated would happen. They have continued to get Holmes more involved by using his speed to get open. They don't have to dump off to FWP mainly cause Ben has all day to throw back there and when he doesn't he's able to shed tacklers and either throw the ball away or run with it. This is all a credit to the off line which has peformed admirably.

Sorry Hat Trick, I have to disagree with you there. I have been disappointed with the offensive line this season. It is one of the major downers in a year full of good things. Both Roethlisberger and Parker are making that line look much better than it actually is. Don't get me wrong, they aren't terrible, but, they aren't elite like the used to be. If anything costs this team eventually, I think it will be the O-line. Roethlisberger is avoiding sacks and breaking tackles every game, which makes the sacks against stat better than it should be. He rarely has all day to throw, unless he scrambles out and creates time.

Parker's season has been a lot of this type of work: +2, +1, +3, +2, +1, +45, +2, +3, +1 He simply hasn't had a lot of big holes to run through. For example, his one big run on Sunday was when he ran smack into a clogged up hole and spun his way outside, where there was room to run. This has been going on all season.

I will agree that there hasn't been a lot of 'need' to go to Willie Parker in the passing game this year, but, I still think it is a weapon being wasted. Part of it is play-calling and part of it is that Ben really likes to throw the ball down the field and rarely looks to dump off. Especially when he escapes the pocket. I've seen lots of instances where he has someone open 5 yards in front of him, or a running lane and he continues to wait for the big play to emerge. There is nothing wrong with that, but, I think as he continues to develop, he will learn to take those short gains when they are appropriate and are there for the taking.

I agree, this was the first thing to run through my mind as I was reading the thread...and no, I don't own FWP :D

I'm thanking my lucky stars that FWP is my #1 RB in a league rather than some of the other higher draft picks that have flopped miserably (ie - SJax, Alexander, etc). With attrition to RBs this season, Parker owners should be damn glad that they have him to insert each week and that he's performing right around his value.

Well I honestly haven't seen hardly any Steelers play this year but going from the stats this is what I was judging by.

Exactly!!! Other than LT or Addai, who would you rather have?? Feel your pain??!! Fast Willie's pain is a finger prick compared to Rudi, SJax, Shaun, LJ, RBrown, Gore & others. Stop whining and make the rest of your team better.

While the original poster is whining too much, Willie Parker is performing a bit worse than I expected. Westbrook, LT, Addai, Bush, Portis, McGahee, Lynch , Barber, and MJD are all outperforming him in PPR leagues. The list would be longer if you put in the consider the injured Ronnie Borwn, Peterson, and LJ.

Even with his lack of TDs, I'm still pretty happy with Parker as my #2. And I'm even happier that I was able to unload Rudi for Addai last winter.
