Chavez
I know NOTHING about the Cats this year....well, I know a few things: - Steve Smith is pretty much their lone gamebreaker on offense and they aren't getting him the ball consistently - Foster and Williams form a fairly effective two-headed monster in the backfield - their QB choices at this point are Vinny Testaverde or David Carr, which is like having the choice of smashing your hand with a hammer or slamming it in a car door - from what I think I might have heard, Julius Peppers is underachieving Care to enlighten me? darin3
I won't claim to know any more than you, Chavez. But yeah, Smith's all they have really, with Foster once again barely above-average. DeAngelo Williams is probably the better choice at RB and it's mind-baffling as to why they don't just start the guy to see what he'd do with 20-25 touches. Carr's going to be "evaluated" tomorrow, but more than likely this evaluation won't tell doctors that he SUCKS. Just whether he's healthy enough to play. Hopefully he's not, and Testaverde IS (Steve Smith owner here). Also, as a Smith owner, I'm troubled by this matchup. Both Al Harris and Chucky Woodson are playing inspired football (for a couple of old guys). Peppers - as well as the entire D - is totally underachieving. I'd expect Foster and Williams to combine for 100 total rushing yards and maybe a score. If Carr starts, the pass game will be nil. If Testaverde starts, I'd expect somewhere in the 200-225 yard, 1 TD range. Hopefully Smith can muster up 70ish yards with a score. And this will be with Testaverde under center. Should Matt Moore get the nod, who knows. Packers will run roughshod over this uninspired Panther D. Great day to start Ryan Grant, IMO. Of course Favre and his merry band of WRs and Donald Lee will put up fantasy points. And yeah, good day to start the Packer D. Have fun, Big John. Chavez
Carr's going to be "evaluated" tomorrow, but more than likely this evaluation won't tell doctors that he SUCKS. I'd guess they already know that. Now, if they could find out WHY he sucks and put him on some medication, we'd be talkin' Nobel Prize. detlef
I've been subjected to a number of Cats games on TV here as well as rather constant talk on the radio. However, I have little to offer that hasn't been said. They're pretty bad on both sides of the ball. Any spect their D gets is from people who think it's still 2004. Peppers has been an absolute bust this year (not sure if he's had a sack yet). The rest of the D-line is barely better. The one dude who stood up and called out the entire team for not caring was brushed off as an a-hole. Dan Morgan is out for the year, again. Teams are routinely torching their secondary. Their O-line is managing to get QBs pummelled on a weekly basis. Of course, despite that, they're 4-5, which hardly says "awful" but those wins were done with smoke an mirrors against some rather poor teams (St. L, ATL, NO, and AZ with Rattay playing pretty much the whole game). I really can't fathom a situation that doesn't include GB winning this thing going away.
ROYALWITCHEESE
Wouldn't shock me to see Matt Moore get significant snaps this week. Nothing to lose. Play the young fella and see what he's got...
Swiss Cheezhead
Phew...I was worried this was another sigline-bet invitation. We really need to keep those to hated rivals -- the one with the KC fans was historically lame, as sig bets go.
Jumpin Johnies
Wouldn't shock me to see Matt Moore get significant snaps this week. Nothing to lose. Play the young fella and see what he's got... Fox and Hurney need wins to keep their job. We won't be seeing Matt Moore any time soon. I personally can't wait to see Hurney go and Fox has brought some terrible coordinators on both sides of the ball. It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to see him leave. Maybe that's the attraction.

PSULions
This game should be a repeat of the Packers - Vikings game with the Pack winning it easily. This is the 2nd best team that the Panthers have seen all year and continued uncertainty with the starting QB will hurt this team offensively. Carr has been absolutely horrible, so if Vinny can make the start, he will get the call. Despite the poor performances over the past month, Fox seems very stubborn about making changes, so I expect to see some of the same things. Foster over Williams at RB, Vinny over Carr at QB, should both make it to Sunday healthy, no pressure from the DL and Favre will have all day to pass and torch the D. I think we play better on the road than we do at home, but I expect to see about 20 plus points as the margin for this game. Enjoy a big win over a sad sack team as we just plain stink right now. I love the Panthers, but at this point, I will likely pull for them to lose the rest of the season, so Jerry has no choice, but to clean house by getting rid of Hurney, Fox, and the entire coaching staff, and improve our draft position for next year. PantherDave
The Panthers couldn't punch their way outta a wet paper bag at this point. The Pack is going to Hammer the Cat's on the Tundra, as I am in with PSU and JJ and stated it in a thread a few days ago.....time for a change. They have decent personel in Carolina, but as we all know here...the appear clueless as to how and use said talent.....fuggin joke. Plus, I knew they were toast when Delhomme went down, however, we seem to have a future Pro-Bowl'er with Beason taking over at MLB..so a positive for this season....which has not had many to speak of once again. Chavez
Steve Smith is out? Heck, that means just about anybody would have a shot at punching the Panthers around. And Green Bay is a pretty good team. Could get ugly.
