DaFreak
Ah, is this the Rex Grossman bashing thread of the day...??...I'm tired of em....He actually had a decent game....
gilthorp
He's played pretty good today...his protection is terrible. Sounds like a boxing match in the 2nd half "DOWN GOES GROSSMAN".
TheCMB
He might have played ok for the most part - but the fumble was absolutely brutal and unnecessary. After a couple of nice passes downfield, first down on the Seahawks side of the field, and he scrambled left holding the ball out by his side like an idiot. They were down by 7. What kind of fumble isnt brutal and unnecessary.....You don't like Rex, I get it....Rex's problems go beyond Rex though....
bushwacked
It would be nice to see Rex suck once against the Hawks. He has put up three nice games against them in the last year.

He played well within himself today...that's a tough place to play and get a victory, that's for sure. Seattle has some good things going for them, and could be a bit of a sleeper now that they have some legs at the RB spot, and all their WR's back on the field. Good win for your boys. I don't have anything against Rex, really. But to answer your question... Sometimes players take big hits and the ball pops out. Sometimes a QB gets blindsided the second he drops back. Sh!t happens. In this case Rex scrambled to his left after being chased out of the pocket, without tucking the ball away, really holding it out carelessly, and basically blew any chance the Bears had to tie the game. It was 1st and 10 on about the Seahawks 40. See the difference???
Bill Swerski
He might have played ok for the most part - but the fumble was absolutely brutal and unnecessary. After a couple of nice passes downfield, first down on the Seahawks side of the field, and he scrambled left holding the ball out by his side like an idiot. They were down by 7. That's typical Rex. Even when he plays efficiently and limits his mistakes, he's not going to win games for you in the 4th quarter.
gilthorp
Let's face it, he is an average QB. He was trying to make something happen in that situation, and got caught from behind. He actually showed me today that he does have some game in him outside of slinging the long ball. I expected far worse from him today, and he did pretty good. Since Swerski is wrong like once every 4 years I do have to agree, he's not going to win games for you in the 4th quarter, but the way the Seahawks were playing defense in the 2nd half, not many QB's were going to do much more than what he did today. For those of you that didn't see the game, he made some pretty damn good throws today and had a lot of quality decisions, along with some decent elusiveness in the pocket. Sometimes a QB gets blindsided the second he drops back. Sometimes a QB scrambles and has the ball stripped. Sometime a QB throws six interceptions in a game. Sh!t happens. Listen, I am not a Grossman sympathizer by any means but I guess I am just tired of people piling on him when in actuality he played a good game. Sure it was a back breaker but the Bears offensive woes go beyone Rex Grossman.

Not sure I'd call him "average", especially in comparison to some of his peers of similar age/experience (Palmer, Romo, Roethlisberger, Rivers, Eli, etc.). Seems to me that he's square in the "below-average" category, in about the same tier as J.P. Losman. But I agree that he's not in a good position to succeed right now. They can't run the ball for crap, and a lot of that (and not to mention the pass protection) has to do with the dinosaurs on the O-line like Ruben Brown and Fred Miller... and not to mention their over-paid FA WR acquisition from two years ago that now struggles to separate from defenders. And Ron Turner needs to go back to coaching college. Rex reminds me of Kitna when he was in Seattle. I haven't given up hope that maybe one day things will come together for him... but it's almost certainly not going to happen in Chicago, if for no other reason than their inability to hire competent offensive coordinators. Agree 100%. I don't think that there is time for him to succeed in Chicago. Too many problems to fix and the average fan and media will blame him till the end. I think he has the tools to be an above average QB in the right situation though.

Hass is having a really good year. Holmgren is mimicking the GB Packers offensive strategy of passing a majority of the time. So far it looks much more effective than trying to feed an old/unhealthy Sean Alexander.
Wolverines Fan
Dear Lovie Smith and Jerry Angelo, Rex Grossman is who you thought he was. Sincerely, Dennis Green
