i_am_the_swammi
Swammi's Thursday's picks: DET +3.5: Not really sure why I like Detroit. Maybe cause they are a home dog, maybe cause this game could potentially decide they're playoff fate, maybe because, well, I don't know. But I do like Detroit to keep this game very close, for Kevin Jones to step up and help the Lions keep Favre off the field, and for the Detorit home crowd to make a big difference in GB's ability to pass. And I'm still not totallly convinced GB is truly a 9-1 team. Money line for Detorit is a solid play. DET 23, GB 20 DAL -14: The Jets won their Super Bowl last week, and having to travel accross the country on four days rest just doesn't bode well for the road dog. Dallas, having played at home last week, will be looking to either keep pace with the Packers, or move a game ahead of them. They will be motivated either way, based on GB having played first. As usual, it will take some time for Dallas to get rolling, but they indeed roll. DAL 30, NYJ 10. IND/ATL under: not real fond of the point spread....IND has been up and down, and lately down in terms of offensive continuity. But one thing has remained constant: Addai's ability to run the ball, and in a loud dome, I think thats the direction they go tonight. Indy will control the flow of the game with Addai, and as usual, the Falcons will be inable to do much of anything to get it back. Don't love this play, so will be going with a smaller play here. IND 24, ATL 13. Have a great day, boys, and enjoy the holdiay!!
Gdawg
Guys, like the DAL and IND/ATL Under calls, I'm playing both as well. Not sure I'll play the GB/DET game. Good luck guys, let's go get The Man

Steeltown Dre
Just got back on here. I didn't "personal play" GB/Det. System said Det (so I have that system play in) but I couldn't pull the trigger to reverse it w/ GB, so I've just got a standard system play on Det. Steeltown Dre
Went large on Dal and got the easy cover there. Ind/Atl Under didn't work out quite as well, but only took part of the days profits away from me. Favs went 3-0, Overs went 2-1. rattsass
Yesterday moring I heard some replacement dork host on ESPN radio predict outright victories for the Lions and Jets. He also said Kansas would beat Missouri. So place your bets accordingly. Edited November 23, 2007 by rattsass

I hit a 3 team tease yesterday and was very lucky to do so..I pretty much signed it off as a loss and lucked out..GB +6.5 IND -2.5 IND'ATL under 51 (that under was very much in jeopardy only 10 pys scored in the 2nd half)
rattsass
Ratt - any college goodies this weekend? Georgia, Virginia Tech, Kentucky for me. I'll tell you what, I have made very few college bets this season and I feel real good about that decision. The NCAA has been tougher than the NFL this season. I lean toward Mizzou and the points, but probably won't be playing it. I don;t have any good ideas for the NCAA this week. I figure why fool around with that stuff when the Patriots are such easy money. That is my only play this week other than my hit on Green Bay yesterday. I might play the Steelers on Monday night after the Patriots stuff me full of cash.

Gdawg
Budin hit a nice GA/KY tease today Bosie wasn't a bad call really, they lost a bunch of DBs during the game, that spelled doom. I kind of hope Hawaii gets a real bowl game; they'll get crushed. No call for me on the Ravens yet. LEANING towards SD. BAL is terrible on the road, Boller is terrible on the road. Will look into it more early tomorrow. Bookmaker showing SD -8 right now, I'd consider SD -7, even with Turner and Company at the helm. Let you guys know in the morning. CMac83
I usually leave these threads to everyone else, but I'm really liking the Texans moneyline tomorrow. +150 against a semi-fraudulent Browns team is a good price. I wish Dunta Robinson was healthy, but even if Cleveland scores a bunch, I think Houston should have no problem keeping up now that Schaub and AJ are healthy. Just my two cents, for whatever it's worth (hopefully, three cents on Monday!).

Gdawg
Steven Budin-CEO SUNDAY'S PICK 25 DIME PLAY TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS A note from Steve Budin: Guys, since we're up 840 dimes with these releases I want you to spend a little extra coin and buy down the 1/2 point in the following scenarios: This line is floating between 3 and 4 points. So if you've got Tampa Bay at -3 I want you to buy them down to -2 1/2 so you still win if they prevail by a field goal. And if you get Tampa Bay at -3 1/2, buy down to -3 so you get a push with a field goal. This is still a play at Tampa Bay -4 or higher as well, but once again, we are putting our profit to work for us by buying a little insurance and maximizing the odds in our favor if the line is under 4. Take it from a former bookmaker and the guy who fathered the offshore sportsbook industry that too many gamblers and handicappers needlessly buy half points on all types of numbers. But the ONLY number that matters from a bookmaker's perspective is 3 because of overtime and that's why its the only number they (bookmakers) charge the extra juice for. Once again, we're using the power of money - our profit of 840 dimes - against the bookmaker in this case. Why not buy a little extra insurance at a few cents on the dollar to protect your investment? As CEO of a multi-million dollar company I can tell you it's the right move, just like I knew it was the right move when as a bookmaker I saw smart players doing the same thing when the opportunity presented itself. Steeltown Dre
My computer is on the fritz today - spilled coffee on it. Will post this while it's working but may not be able to get back. I agree w/ whomper, not loving anything really today. Already played NE. I'll add a play on Sea and w/ TB already in my "top 5 per week", and now that Budin's on it, I'll add a little more on TB. So that's it. Lots of chalk for me today. That Cle/Hou game could be a tossup, and everyone seems to be on the Hou bandwagon after they crushed NO. I'm tempted to take Cle but I've already got too much chalk on the board. I think Cin can upset Ten, but I don't see too much value there. But I'd lean towards Cin. After leaving Thurs being up by a large amount w/ Dal's cover, I'm just taking those 3 today and if I come up w/ anything else, I'll post it, but may not be able to get on, we'll see w/ my computer

i_am_the_swammi
quick question..How does your office handle pushes in a teaser..Last night I had a 3 team tease..Clemson +7 (winner) Cinncinnati -11(winner) Over 44 in Clemson/SC game (push)..The bet was cancelled as a push..Is that the norm ? Your boy on the street may handle it this way, and its not unusal. With a legit place, your wager would be paid as a winning two-team teaser. Set up an account with Bodog or the like, and you'll never have problems with the line moving late, poor payout odds (like you experienced above), etc.
Mojo Rising
Today does seem like a weird day, Im pretty sure everybody did alright on thursday's plays, so could be a nice week to take it easy. i_am_the_swammi
Swammi's picks: TEN -1.5 over CIN: never like going against a home dog, but this opportunity begs for my attention. the Bengals are still getting loads of respect for past-seasons success, and I think the betting public still likes them as a good team that is underachieving. Fact is, they're a bad team playing bad. And TEN, in need of a win to keep pace in the playoff hunt, will be more than motivated to expose a poor CIN defense. In a higher scoring game, TEN 29, CIN 20. KC/OAK under 34 1/2 : Under 34.5?!?!?! Am I crazy? Nah, not really. These two poor offenses both have had difficulty scoring 17 in any game this year, and the cahnces of them both doing it against each other seem rather miniscule. KC wasn't good enough on offense to get LJ going this year, and a rookie RB, playing behind a rookie QB throwing to a rookie WR, spells low scoring. And KCs defense, after holing Indy in check last week to the tune of 13 points, may pitch a shutout this week against their hated rival. KC 16, OAK 3. DEN/CHI over 41: Both of these teams have defenses that are living off past reputation, and both have the ability to expose the other's weekness. Denver should have no problem scoring by land or by air, and I expect them to visit the end zone 3-4 times. Similarly, CHI should have success rushing the ball at home with Benson (yes, Cedric Benson), and Grossman, while limited by Bly and Bailey, will be able to find some success utlilizing the speed of Berrian and Hester on some deep balls. DEN 30, CHI 24. Tease of the Week: Buffalo + 14/ NO + 4 GL Boys...time for some extra holiday spending ching!
