Grits and Shins
With 2 weeks left in my local there is a scenario that could result the use of tie-breakers to decide 2 division titles and tie breakers to decided 2 wild card spots. Two teams that lose their division title on tie-breaks would also lose out on the wild card on tie breakers. That would would hurt ... to be tied for the division lead and not make the playoffs at all because you lose not only the division tie-breaker but also the wild card tie-breaker. In FOFF I am the 2nd highest scoring team and am currently a half game out of the playoffs. There are 2 weeks left so it is not over yet though. Randall
There is a scenario in my local in which the highest scoring team could miss the playoffs altogether. In one of my leagues the last wild card spot is the highest remaining points scorer. It may cost me a spot this year but I like the rule. Missing the playoffs while tied for division lead sucks. Grits and Shins
Missing the playoffs while tied for division lead sucks. The scenario that allows that to happen has 6 teams in the league at 7-6 so it is not as bad as it seems.
Qball86
There is a scenario in my local in which the highest scoring team could miss the playoffs altogether. I think if you poll on this it is more common than many think... As it relates, one of my leagues is toying with this idea, tell me what you think. 10 team league No division or head-to-head format Every week the 5 teams that score the most get a "W" and the 5 that score the least get a "L". The win/loss record at the end sets the playoffs. We haven't decided if that will go into the playoffs or if the playoffs will go to head-to-head format. This came up because the team in last place in one of the current divisions has scored the most points(by far) but has played against the team scoring the most that week like 6 out of 11 weeks now. The team in first in that division has had an average of 25 pts/week less scored against them. I'm a bit of the old-school head-2-head with divisions player myself but do like the idea of the best teams making the playoffs and not the teams who had the schedule work in their favor. The best parts of fantasy football are 1) draft day 2) H2H smack talk. What you propose is just another form of total points.
Uncle Wiggy
There is a scenario in my local in which the highest scoring team could miss the playoffs altogether. The guy with most points in my league is 4-7 and in 9th place out of 12. This guy missed the playoffs last year with LT and his 32 TDs. This year he's going to miss with Tom Brady and his 50+ TDs. Unbelievable.

The Tom Brady owner in my local is 0-11 The team with Randy Moss also has Terrell Owens and was very fortunate that both went off this week to keep his play off hopes alive at 7-5. The Brady owner in my league is 21-1 (we play doubleheaders.) He also has Moss. This week Brady and Moss alone scored enough points to beat all but one other team in the league, as has happened a few other times. If a Brady owner is 0-11 in any league its because he is unquestionably the WORST fantasy football owner in history. There have been more than enough decent waiver wire players out there this year to supplement Brady's output to a winning record.

Go here to see the team he drafted ... he had a whole heaping of bad luck.
Cyclones
Go here to see the team he drafted ... he had a whole heaping of bad luck. Oh Cripes - I can't imagine it being much worse. Still though, with that record he's had top waiver priority all season. No reason he couldnt have picked up a few wins along the way. But man, what a bad draft.
