But yesterday he cracked me up during the GB/DET game. He was doing the usual terrible announcer thing of gushing on Favre "Favre is getting close to the record for consecutive completions. Is there any record Favre isn't in danger of breaking!" blah blah blah. He must have gotten a look or a smack from one of his partners, because he followed up with: "Do you think that maybe sometimes announcers gush a little bit too much over Favre?" Fox was going to a commercial, showing the replay of each homer and Buck says, 'first it was Youuuk, then Big Papi and then this shot from Man Ram!' ahhhhahaha!....Man Ram!!??...i couldnt believe my ears! luckily the knickname didn't stick...never heard that again. peteteacher2001 Posted November 24, 2007 Share Posted November 24, 2007 For those of us who live in the midwest, we got to listen to Joes dad, Jack as the Card announcer and Joe comes in and does Bird games alot during the baseball season. Joe is one of the best announcers out there. FWIW, he does all of the Red Sox games in recent years because they are one of the best teams in baseball. He's a bionic journalist experiment -- can erase entire paragraphs in a single scrub ... It's a lame power, but you gotta understand, the writers have gone on strike so that aspect of his ability hasn't been properly developed.
