Ziachild007
Texans are left in a world of hurt NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Texans quarterback Matt Schaub sat on the training table Sunday trying to focus his attention on the television. He hoped it would provide a distraction from the possibility his season might be over because of a dislocated left shoulder. Watching hardly deadened his pain. It only got worse as he watched guards Fred Weary and Chris White leave the 28-20 loss to Tennessee at LP Field with season-ending injuries. "(Seeing Weary) hurt me worse than me being hurt because he's been fighting his tail off all year," said Schaub, who was 3-for-5 for 34 yards before coming out with 3:16 left in the first quarter. "He's such a great competitor. Chris White as well. It's upsetting." White said he injured the medial collateral ligament in his left knee. He and Schaub traveled home with the team. Weary, who broke the tibia in his right leg, remained at a Nashville-area hospital overnight. Rookie gets call The Texans enter their final four games with rookie Kasey Studdard as their starting right guard. With Schaub's status for the rest of the season to be determined, Sage Rosenfels will take over at quarterback. Schaub was injured when he was sacked by left end Antwan Odom, and coach Gary Kubiak said there is "a little hope" it is not season-ending. "We'll have more tests when we get back home," Schaub said. "But we got it back into place, and now it's a matter of getting the range of motion and strength back." Studdard, who made his first appearance of the year on offense Sunday, has a big task ahead as he tries to replace Weary, who is in the last year of his contract and was having arguably his best season. Many of the Texans offensive linemen stood next to Weary for the entire time it took doctors to immobilize his leg and strap him to a board to be carted off the field. They were distraught after the game. "A lot of people don't know this, but Fred is one of the big reasons we are slowly making the turnaround," right tackle Eric Winston said. The Texans now focus on trying to regroup while hoping Schaub returns. Schaub has left four games with injuries this season and missed one start because of a concussion. Injuries a blow "Losing your starting quarterback or any quarterback, for an offensive lineman is a shot to the stomach," left guard Chester Pitts said. "My philosophy has always been to do whatever it takes so that guy does not get touched. "Push, grab, bite, scratch, claw, take a doggone penalty. Whatever it takes. "We know in this business guys are going to get beat. Things happen. Any other day that's just another tackle. But you land wrong and bang, you ding up your shoulder pretty good. Obviously, I hope he (Schaub) can come back."
MrTed46
Ouch. I made playoffs but highly unlikely I am going to win without a QB. I wish him the best he is a good QB but he sure seems to get hurt alot this season.
WaterMan
Yeah QBs tend to get hurt alot when they aren't as fast as Vick behind the pocket.
Grits and Shins
Yeah QBs tend to get hurt alot when they aren't as fast as Vick behind the pocket. But the end result is still the same ... the Falcons miss the play offs

Grits and Shins
Yeah without Vick the Falcons are never going to make the playoffs with Harrington. And they only were ever going to make it once with Vick

Gros Membres!
Schaub has been a nice surprise this season but the inability to stay healthy for very long is a concern. Perhaps the Texans will start spending and drafting on that oline to protect their investments now. The defense is looking pretty good as it is and with a few improvements could be set for years to come. All this being said, Rosenfels has looked decent in relief work and as an AJ owner I'm happy to see them connecting often.
chester
I started the year with Favre, Roethlisberger and Romo. I traded away Romo and Big Ben because Favre never gets hurt. My only backup is Schaub and trades/waivers are over. Ah, well, Brett will be fine.
