Riffraff
http://www.realfootball365.com/nfl/articles/20509.html Decent article. Robinson may not be much of a RB, but perhaps his college position could be tried out. It's not like they have much to play for and Dilfer is no heir to the offense. Either way, the 9ers will need a better back-up RB next year (Hicks is a free agent) and could use a third QB (Shaun Hill?). Could solve one problem with Robinson already on the roster. Third string RBs are easy enough to find.
budlitebrad
Has a pro team ever used the pistol formation before?
xtra
Could they put Davis at FB too, maybe he can touch the ball then.
piratesownninjas
Could they put Davis at FB too, maybe he can touch the ball then. You'd rather have him fumble than just drop the ball?
jjpro11
it'd be cool to see MROB behind center again.
xtra
You'd rather have him fumble than just drop the ball? As long as he does it after he gains some yards!
BeeR
it'd be cool to see Robinson behind center again. Unless you're a 49er fan...or they go to a 90/10 run/pass split.
Crazysight
"Robinson may not be much of a RB" He's averaged 4.8 yards a carry this year. Though much fewer carries, that's a higher average than Gore's. What's so bad about that??? Edited December 9, 2007 by Crazysight
Riffraff
And in 2006 his average was 3.1 when Gore was rushing for an NFL average that ranked one of the highest. He has a 7.3 ave per reception this year, that doesn't make him an excellent wideout. http://www.nfl.com/players/michaelrobinson...ts?id=ROB656044 If you look, you'll see he only has a 2.6 ave when the Niners are tied or in the lead (Gore is about 1 yard higher). It's much easier to gain yardage when the defense is playing the pass (Gore's ave jumps up to 6.2 when behind by 1-8 points)
Scooby
it'd be cool to see MROB behind center again. It's that bad of a year for the niner's huh?
