Gramatica, 32, has been out of work since he was released by the Dallas Cowboys during training camp. But he's no stranger to late-season call-ups. Last season, he signed with the Cowboys in late November. A few days later, he hit a 46-yard winning field goal in the final seconds against the New York Giants. Supposedly he will compete in training camp with Olindo "Night"-Mare but I think I speak for most Saints fans when I say I've seen enough of Olindo already. Why not take a chance on a kid coming out of the draft? With Grammatica and Mare you know that at best, you're getting an average kicker that you can hardly rely on.
