mrpnlu
welker is pretty much a short yardage guy...do you think weather will really kill his production this weekend? im thinkin it reduces the deep ball and increases the value of ben watson andwelker... MTSuper7
Your logic makes sense, but the game plan could factor in weather to get Moss, Gaffney, etc. some short yardage catches. I wouldn't change your normal expectations for Welker if I were you.

myhousekey
Welkers production was pretty awful in the bad "wind" game vs Baltimore a few weeks ago. 3 catches. 18 yards.
pj veddar
Would you start Marshall over Welker based on teh weather?
Bill Swerski
I agree. Moss may have an "off" week as well (maybe only 90 yds and one TD).
BetterOff
I agree. Moss may have an "off" week as well (maybe only 90 yds and one TD). That is my hope as well. This week I play against TO & Moss. If I win the most likely next opponent would be Brady's owner so I am definitely hoping for some poor production from Both Moss & Brady THIS week. NavinRJohnson
I don't see how bad weather would improve Welker's numbers. As said above, the Pats will probably just get Moss more involved in the short passing game and increase Maroney's work load. Given the weather, I might have to bench Welker for G. Jennings this weekend, which is not necessarily a bad thing...
cre8tiff
I am playing Welker against the Brady owner, who is currently also starting Gaffney. It would not bother me one bit for New England's passing game to be shut down for a change. But I think I have to play Welker as a strategy against the Brayd owner (That and my alternative is Steve Smith ;-) ).

What exactly is the strategy being employed by starting Welker because your opponent has Brady? Do you get bonus points when your opponent's QB throws a TD to your WR? pig devilz
given the latest weather forecast, i dont see any one receiver having a monster day and that includes Moss, meaning no 3+ TD day...Welker will see plenty of action, as will the TE's... the Patriots will spread it around, at times they'l play it like weather isnt a factor (go deep) safest FF bet is Brady, throwing to dif receivers, you don't take the ball out of the hands of the best QB in the league and have him handing it off.... i expect a short running game to keep the LB's honest and open it up over the middle to any and all receivers... maybe 1 or 2 goal line rushing TD's (Evans-Maroney-Eckel-Seau!? ) the Jets have many weakness's, and the Patriots will try to exploit them no matter what the weather. Jets pass rush will have a difficult time of it.....Patriots D should also have a big day.... and maybe a trick play of some sort, if they get up big, just to humiliate the Jets nothing personal of course..... jmo
cre8tiff
What exactly is the strategy being employed by starting Welker because your opponent has Brady? Do you get bonus points when your opponent's QB throws a TD to your WR? Nope. I think Brady has the capacity to throw a ton of passes, any number of which will go to Welker. If I play SSmith, Brady will still throw his ton of passes, but I think the odds are much better Welker will score than Smith. So I guess what will be more accurate is this: "My opponent's quarterback is a monster stud, and I have to start whatever wideout I have on his team over the guy with no QB to speak of." I suppose in the back of my mind, I'm thinking those yards and TDs "Cancel out", but haven't given it really deep thought. I would not, for example, start Steve Smith if my opponent started Testesverde. Basically, I'm starting the player I think will score me the most points. If you are not awarded bonus points when your opponent's QB throws a TD to your WR then your opponent's roster should NEVER be considered when you set your lineup. Your decision is ... will player A score more than player B ... the fact that your opponent will be starting player C who throws the ball to player is A is irrelevant. Greg Jennings is a better start over Welker anyway, given that GB plays indoors at St. Louis and Welker will be playing in adverse conditions on a team with several potential targets. Jennings is more likely to score and provides more consistency anyway.

MTSuper7
Weather.com says 100% chance of wintry mix turning to rain in the afternoon with sustained high winds (25+ mph) in Foxboro on Sunday. I'll bet it's tough to video tape signals in that kind of weather.
isleseeya
Brady forgot how to hand the ball off to the running backs ...actually i think Pats dropped all their RB's ..Maroney has cobwebs on his helmet I think unless the weather is absolutely brutal ( worse than has been written so far ) brady will keep throwing and his recievers ( all of them ) will keep catching and producing
