knucklehead
They aren't really playing for anything, so do you think he will get much action?
Bronco Billy
Not that it is likely at all, especially in the AFC this year, but there is an advantage in obtaining the 3rd seed rather than the 4th seed in the playoffs in that it could lead to a better matchup in first and second rounds and possible HFA in the championship. SD does have something to play for, and besides, if LT plays even for one half against a D who couldn't tackle a one legged first grader running with a stolen piece of bubble gum (apologies to Champ, who actually has the professionalism & balls to stick his facemask in & wrap up) he could very well rack up big numbers before dropping the pads for the day. MTSuper7
Yeah, with the #3 seed up for grabs (and the honor of NOT drawing NE in round #2 in Foxboro), I would say SD has plenty to play for. I'm more worried about LT sitting if the Chargers are up 28 points in the 3rd than being rested.
detlef
I think there's plenty to play for even if you take away the unlikely event that both Indy and NE lose to the #3 and #4 seeds. As it shakes out right now, the #4 seed draws Jax and the #3 draws Cle. Cleveland has been a nice story, but, given the choice, I think you'd rather have a play-off game against a team with a horrible D. Like Bronco says, they'll pull him if the game is in hand, like last week, but chances are that will mean he's already put up some pretty nice numbers, like...last week. LayLow
I agree. He won't be rested unless the game gets out of hand, especially on Monday Night Football.
keggerz
tomlinson said he felt a "hamstring twinge" in the game on sunday(but says he should be good to go): http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/charg...s18chnotes.html Tomlinson and Turner both said the hamstring twinge Tomlinson felt Sunday is not a concern. LayLow
That is probably the reason he came out early. Otherwise, he may have led some teams to their respective superbowls with a monster day. Im glad he saved it for this week as I need him to come through big time on monday night to collect alot of cash
Riffraff
Yup, #3 seed helps avoid both New England in round 2 and also avoid Jacksonville in round 1. Both of those teams had their way with the Chargers this season.
LayLow
I would assume they would play the game to win, and if it was close, LT would play the whole game unless his hammy tweeked again.
pseudolefty
LT wil play as long as the game remains close. Not only is the #3 seed important to the Chargers, but he also has a good shot at another rushing title. He mentioned in the SD paper today that although the rushing title is secondary to the team goals of securing the #3 seed and doing well in the playoffs, it is sometihing that the entire offense takes pride in (especially the OLine). LayLow
And norv turner remarked that he may "suit sproles up in LT's jersey and play him"
alexgaddis
about 2 and 1/2 quarters
Chargerz
LT wil play as long as the game remains close. Good info here. Turner said yesterday that he wants the #3 seed.
LayLow
I can't see this game getting out of hand, UNLESS, LT goes off early, in which case, he should have 20+ fantasy points by that time. Im thinking 3 TDs for him this week and then he probably sits and watches Cutler throw pick after pick and sproles get carry after carry
