gasface
he has yet to impress me this year not a very exciting runner... more of a safe 4 yards a run vanilla back in a system that moves the ball well i wouldnt want him on an average team
i_am_the_swammi
Odd you posted this...I am beginning to feel the same thing about him....though I want to temper it with the fact that I am frustrated as of his last three outings. However, in my keeper league, I'll have to decide between Addai and Barber (who won't be in RBBC)....I'll have a very tough decision on who to stick with. 1st&punt
A good back but better in ppr league. He should slide down a couple notches on the draft board next year, for sure behind purple Jesus and probably behind Lynch as well.
Bill Swerski
Addai has been banged up for the past month and a half or so and the Colts O-line is in shambles right now. He's no LT or AP, but I think that he's definitely better than average.
SheikYerbuti
I don't see anything wrong with drafting the system over the individual inside the system. . . . Oh, wait. . .I just remembered I drafted Travis Henry and Cedric Benson this year and finished close to last place. Never mind . . . :slinkingaway:
The Irish Doggy
Addai is a very fine back, but as others predicted, is getting a little banged up in a full season as the primary runner. Not sure if he will develop more stamina because of this year or not, but he seems to have some toughness to fight through pain. I think there's a lot to like. WaterMan
That toughness is Manning giving him a pretty 10 yards to run before he's touched, due to the play action.

chinatown dragons
Average or not, Im happy with his 1300 total yards and 14 tds this year....one of the main reason im IN the super bowl.....
CaptainHook
He is not in the same class as Tomlinson or Peterson, but he's pretty darn good. The Colts have been careful with him in his first two seasons, making sure his load was not too heavy and he would be ready for the play-offs. It seems to be a good plan. kickers play
No , I wont agree with that. I have Addai in my keeper for 2 seasons now and have watched him as closely as someone can without having NFL Ticket. I always thought to myself that he has great hands, reads the blitz better than most then handles his duties as a blocker and his agility and cuts are sweet. He runs well inside and out and has pretty damn good hands as well. Soft hands are a QB's best friend. For reasons I cant explain Addai hasnt been utilized as much as I thought he might out of the backfield this season, but he handles his business. He was averaging 5 ypc for the first half of the season before injuring his ribs a few weeks back. Thats an injury he's still dealing with from what I've read. On top of that the O-line has been hurting and for a period this season the passing game wasnt clicking in the same fashion as 06. With Gonzalez emerging and the chance that Harrison is back for the play-offs I can imagine his ypc is back sround 4.5 or better in the play-offs verse better defenses. IF the Colts presented the full arsenal including a healthy Addai, O-line and Harrison I am confident Addai is in the top 5 tier of RB's overall. Overall, there are only a few runners that are more explosive then Addai active on NFL rosters. In my opinion they would be Adrian Peterson, LT, Jackson, and one runner that I love watching run Fred Taylor. No, H8tank this isnt me buttering up to ya, I've always thought Fred Taylor runs with a vengaence thats rarely seen. Gore could be inserted somewhere in this conversation and so could a number of RB's but fact is Addai is, and will be a top 5 RB for seasons to come regardless if the " system " has any bearing or not. That system is one of 32 systems that have to be considered.
joeyb7
I don't agree with this either.... as far as I know he's a great blocker, has great hands, ability to make quick moves after the catch and cuts just as well as any other back in the league to bust through tight spots at the line of scrimmage. I agree that he could be a little tired this year, but give him a few years as a primary back and I think he only gets better. I still see him next year not only as a top 5 back, but possibly a top 5 pick in most drafts...especially those that award PPRs.
bushwacked
Sean Alexander was a pretty good average back in a decent system for about 5 seasons.
FishFreak
Addai is definately above average in my book. Sure the system and Colt offense inflate his numbers but you can say that about many players. This is Addai's first season being a featured back and he's handled it nicely and fought thru nagging injuries. He's going to get even better in a solid offense. How much more production could anyone expect from him this year? He's on pace for 1,500 total yards and 15 total TD's. I'll take that every time. Anything more is icing on the cake. Whereas the Broncos can put any mother plugger in there and have success. Addai is pretty much the average of the NFL.
