darin3
Per ESPN... Pretty good hire, IMO. Dude's got a raw deal on a few occasions and I think he'll do well in LA.
sacosud
I have to agree. Good hire and could be a good location for Mallet to transfer too. UCLA will have a guy that can put in a decent offese and QB recruits will have to start looking UCLA's way. Rockerbraves
IMO sort of a risky hire considering his past.

theprofessor
Being a UDub season ticket holder I've had the opportunity to witness Neuheisel's coaching ability and I think he'll do a great job at UCLA. He will definately draw some added interest from top QB recruits from around the country with his ability to coach up the QB position. He's very charasmatic and well spoken which will allow UCLA to get into SC's recruiting cupboard a little bit. It will be interesting to see the SC-UCLA rivalry build the next few years with Neuheisel and Carrol going at it. They are very simlar personalities. Will "slick" Rick learn from his past? Did he get a raw deal at UW? Perhaps, but his history shows that he has a tendency to push the rules envelope a liitle too far. I personally feel that what Neuheisel went through at Washington will benefit him and I think he builds the UCLA program into a national power again. darin3
Why do you think this guy has not been hired? 'cuz he's been working in the NFL maybe? Dude you are a complete tool. I truly feel sorry for the LSU fans here.

We may disagree on the whole Belichick thing (and FYI, 75% of that was for pig devilz ) but yeah, well said.

sacosud
Why do you think this guy has not been hired? I don't know maybe he's been busy being a qb coach in the pros and doing pretty good I might add. I'm sure he had some offers, but he was waiting out a bigger(opportunity) school. He will make sure to stop at every crosswalk in LA and help the old ladies cross the street, heck he might even be ringing the bell at the little red bucket next holiday season. Scouts honor. Never any hard feelings from my side. It's fun to play the debate game even though sometimes it gets the best of us. IMO, Neuheisel's a great hire for the Bruins and I'm sure his recent troubles at the UW made it a very tough decision for UCLA. Within 2 years the Bruins will win 9 games. sacosud
You might want to check Baltimore's offensive stats. Not exactly impressive. Yep, that's Rick causing all those problem's in Baltimore. Could not be injury and no WR's. Mason is ancient and Clayton is decent, but too small for the NFL to be consistant. Heap and Mcnabb injuries. Are we talking just this season or the whole time Rick was in Baltimore?? You can take the time to look up those stats if you want. The point is IMO this is going to bring UCLA back in the hunt. I think he did pretty good at UW and CU as a head coach and I think he's a today player's type coach, meaning the young punks will play for him and relate well with his attitude. wildcat2334
Great hire for UCLA, and a no-brainer really. After the UW debacle, Ricky will be hungry to beat up on some people, and win some football games. You combine his great natural recruiting ability, and offensive mind with the talent UCLA gets- scary combination and he can get UCLA back in the national picture in 3-4 years. Rockers clueless on everything outside of LSU. Let him continue to fumble. As far as Neuheisel goes where he really needs to improve is his recruitment of the offensive and defensive lines. He will do a great job bringing in the skilled positions but where he has lacked in the past is putting together tough, strong hard nosed lineman. He will need to implement some toughness and discipline on the UCLA squad. One of his greatest "qualities" is also one of his biggest weaknesses and that is being one of the "guys". If he can create discipline and toughness in his guys he will bring the Bruins back to a TOP 10 program within a couple years.

godtomsatan
Expected no less from this board's biggest moran. I'm not going to argue with the above comment, but Neuheisel does not exactly have a tremendous track record for coaching success. As a matter of fact, both Colorado and Washington football programs were pretty much in the crapper after he left them, mostly because he was looking for other jobs the whole time.
