kickers play
First, thanks for your responses. Second I am taking suggestions for a league name and curious as to how many players are on a dynasty roster etc.. Any input is greatly appreciated. Been playing in a 2 player keeper league for 2 seasons and want to start a frsh dynasty league on CBS Sportsline. I might purchase the league tonight and havent even seen what they have to offer as far as rules and information for new dynasties. They might answer some questions on CBS, I dont know. Leaning toward having no PPR, or IDP options. I am leaning toward a O-line unit play, like having a team O-line , 1 per team with scoring for 100 yard rushers 300 yard passers etc, with negative points for 3+ sacks etc, but will fine tune with the league when established. Anyone have input on how many roster spots? Limits on roster positions? Trying to set something up that I have never done before. I am very sure I am forgetting alot of important questions, so if you have any ideas, please submit them THANKS

The only difference is that you keep your entire roster for the following season. The number of starters and rosters spots can be as few or as many as you want. Many dynasty leagues to tend to have slightly larger roster sizes though to allow for "developing" players. Instead of telling you what you should do, I'll summarize how my dynasties work. If others do the same, you can find some of the common ranges and work from there. I'm currently in 12 dynasty leagues. Starting lineups range from 7 to 9 players. We use only the 5 primary scoring positions (PK, QB, TE, RB, WR). Roster sizes range from 20 to 30 players. None have an injured reserve, but I have played in leagues with injured reserve in the past, usually 3 to 5 player limit per year. I haven't used CBS sportsline for dynasty so I won't be much help there. Do make sure they are capable of handling your scoring system before you commit though. Or at least be flexible on your scoring system in case they can't handle it. The O-Line could be a tricky one, and you may have trouble finding a system that can handle it. If you aren't locked into CBS and if you haven't done so already, be sure to check out other sites to find the one that works best for you. On league name, I like letting the league owners make suggestions and then have them vote on those suggestions. Hope this helps some. AtomicCEO
I've been creating a new dynasty league for my local friends who've been doing keeper leagues for 10+ years this offseason, too. Things I've been looking into are: - How many IDP positions? I think I've settled on 5, but I'm in leagues up to 8. - Keep players forever, or assign contracts that expire? If they do expire, what happens to the players at the end of their contract? Do they go FA? Does the original owner have any rights to retain? - Have a practice squad of developing players that don't require contracts? - To get rosters populated initially, do we have an auction or a draft? kickers play
Thanks. I have commited to CBS , and it turns out the O-line idea isnt flying with league mates so thats gone. Roster sizes was a concern but I found some more info googling around yesterday. Think we are going to go with 25, no Practice/taxi squad and no IDP. We want to focus on offense and a difference from our keeper league will be a Flex position. PPR is being discussed and scoring is on the block right now. 12 team dynasty and in less than 36 hours its almost filled!!! 5 owners from the keeper league are on board and some family etc that have played the last couple of seasons. Most of these cats are veterans to the game. Hopefully they hold up for a few years!!! I am working with everyone in order to establish a league everyone will want to play for years. This first draft is gonna be awsome!!! Thanks for your responses. Questions I had before are being answered daily through discussions on the board and we are hammering it out!!! BYoder
For the initial draft you might want to consider having separate veteran and rookie drafts. Also, swap draft positions for each draft so if you pick first in the vet draft you would pick last in the rookie draft.
