darin3
Let's see if the Big 10 can redeem itself from a horrible defeat at the hands of these same Trojans in last years Rose Bowl I have Illinois ties and would love to see the "feel good story" end the season on a high note, but I just don't see them keeping up with the world-class athletes and extraordinary coaching staff of USC. And this is coming from a big-time USC hater. Edit to add: The line at my sportsbook was -14. I typically don't like betting on spreads more than 10 points in bowl games, but I still took USC. theeohiostate
Illinois has NO defense, and i mean NO DEFENSE ! If USC gets it going they'll put up 50+ points on them. The only shot Illinois has in this game it to get it going, themselves, on offense and hope for the best in a shootout.

Rockerbraves
Is this the team Ohio lost to at home?
theeohiostate
its early. Lets see how they adjust. It would have been nice to see a replay on the apparent fumble by USC, leading to the score. We'll never know as the refs took the play out of the hands of the replay booth by calling the ball dead. gilthorp
looks like my boys are just happy to be there...wish that no call fumble would have at least been looked at.

GWPFFL BrianW
Yeah and Michigan was the team Ohio State held under 100 yards. And did it without the help of SEC speed. What was Florida's excuse?
budlitebrad
What time is the Sugar Bowl on?

theeohiostate
What time is the Sugar Bowl on? Illinois looks like a deer in headlights. This is USC's game to lose, it's on their turf and no escuse for them not handing it to Illinois today. Their team isn't going to be able to put up but 21 points max, so it's about all but over, imo. gilthorp
I'm not going to watch them get embarassed...glad I didn't shovel the end of the drive earlier today.
theeohiostate
Anyone see the stands 99 out of 100 are USC fans. I'd say that constitutes a home game

Supposed to get down into the lower to mid 20s here in Jax. Tomorrow night even colder.

gilthorp
I guess I shouldn't be complaining about the sub-freezing temps in Austin tonight. D, it was awesome last night...32, we got about 5 inches of snow, the type that sticks in every tree. A few days ago, I helped my daughters build a snow fort with some sticky snow that fell, and last night, we added to it on New Years Eve until about 11:00 PM. Now, it's less than 20, windy as crazy, and the end of the drive was all ice from the plows. Shoveling that was less painful than watching the Illini... Rockerbraves
Illinois is hanging in there. Important they can keep USC from scoring these last few minutes of the 1st half.
theeohiostate
The slipper has fell off this Cinderella's foot. Illionois is upandcoming, but can't compete with the big boys on a big stage. The fluke win against the Bucks gave them hope, but in reality they don't have the athletes to compete with the bigtime programs in the country. Zook has them headed in the right direction, but can only take them as far as the recruits he brings in.
