theeohiostate
About to kickoff...........thank goodness, the Rose Bowl was another sleeper. Love to see a major upset here, but from what we've seen out of the Western Athletic this bowl season, it doesn't seem promising, coupled with the fact that Hawaii had all they could handle when they played Washington a few weeks back. Western Athletic 1-2 ---Boiste St loses to East Carolina 38-41 ---Nevada loses to New Mexico 0-23 ---Fresno St over G.Tech 40-
theeohiostate
SEC speed against a mid-major should be interesting. Georgia should win this game by 20, anything less would be seen as a disappointment, imo.
Rockerbraves
Even I am rooting for the island boys here. After watching the Big 10 stink up yet another New Year's afternoon of football . That was just terrible to watch. Ended up watching a replay of the King of Queens. Big 10 is back to where it was last year in the BCS games. theeohiostate
forgot to add, this is yet another SEC team playing in SEC country. Why is it the Big 10 isn't afforded with homefield games while the SEC and Pac10 continue to capitalize on it, and dismiss it as having any bearing on the game, it that is true then come to Columbus in the snow and let's play some football
theeohiostate
Gotta admit, Hawaii is getting the short end of the stick in SEC country with all these penalties..............what is the 7 in the first half already. How does the refs expect these heavy underdogs to compete? Oh.............they don't ?
theeohiostate
This is just another example of an SEC team playing on home turf against a far lesser opponent and making themselves look good We all saw today what they do against legitamate teams like Michigan, Wisconsin and Mizzou ...............but the Hawaii's of the world will always make them look far better. Oh and the -36 player Florida St teams I have gained 10 times more confidence in the Bucks after today...............this is gonna be FUN ! ! ! Hawaii had a great season, but when the best team you've played all season, is the worst team in the Pac 10 , Washington and it was competitive, then you shoudn't be qualified to play in a BCS Game, they should invoke a rule to do with RPI or something to get this from happening again. GWPFFL BrianW
This is a game where the differences in speed is clear. Not as clear as the Outback and Capital 1 Bowls, but very clear.
jaxfactor
UF Kinda like last year's OU effort, huh? At least you should get satisfaction in seeing your Sooners asswhip my Mountaineers. I hope not, but we'll see. Man, these BCS games are shaping up to be yawnfests. I hope WVU can hang with OU but I don't have too much confidence. Maybe we'll get a good game for the NC. Where are the Big 10 schools located? Where are the SEC schools located? Feel free to check out http://weather.com and do the math. GWPFFL BrianW
cant argue too much about the site of the bowls. sometimes you get a bit unlucky with the match ups, like playing florida in florida. But on the flip side, take Iowa and Wisconsin as great examples... both teams travel extremely well, and LOVE the prospect of going to sunny Florida for a trip. And believe me, they love having us, because we spend a LOT of money. Can't speak too much for Wisconsin, but hawk fans are insanely loyal to their squad, and there is nothing else to do in Iowa but hop in an RV and spend a bunch of money on vacation. Here's a hint: $ The NFL does it , why not the NCAA ? It's an obvious advantage for Southern and West coast teams to have their fans travel such a small distance, thereby more can afford to go to the game. I see no reason NOT to have a bowl game in the North............are you saying that you wouldn't like the idea of a Rose Bowl in poor weather conditions, which favors the Big 10 ? theeohiostate
Rose Bowl- Sugar Bowl- Fiesta Bowl- possible but I hope not Orange Bowl- who knows? NC- Hopefully a good game Agree. Rose should have taken Georgia and Sugar should have been Hawaii and Illinois , both games would have been much more interesting.
GWPFFL BrianW
Agree. Rose should have taken Georgia and Sugar should have been Hawaii and Illinois , both games would have been much more interesting. Funny thing is, if Rose didn't take Illinois, no one would, it probably woulda been Arizona State as the other BCS team. Another team that got embarassed. theeohiostate
And as for Hawaii... they are who we thought they were. I projected the score of 50-10 Georgia, It appears i have a great shot of that, provided Hawaii gets lucky and gets a TD . These 3rd rate teams shouldn't even be considered for BCS Games, the reality is 1 in 20 may be competitive, but who wants to watch the other 19 to find out ? budlitebrad
But HFA in the NFL is earned based on record. Neutral sites are always warm weather/domes.
