As a Steeler fan, I'm very spoiled. They have made the playoffs almost annually for quite some time. Last year was difficult watching other teams play in the post-season. It is great to be back and playing. I'm looking forward to a fun 4 weekends of football, regardless of how the Steelers do. There is nothing better than playoff football in the NFL. I just cracked open my first beer, and am ready for my favorite time of the year !!!!

:wacko::D:D

Good luck Skins, Hawks, Jags, & Steelers fans......... enjoy it, you could be Cardinals fans :D

At this point, I see the Steeeeeelers year as pretty balanced:

10-6 = Nice Record

AFC North Crown = Achieved that goal

Big Ben's Return to Health = Thank God (literally)

Loss to the JETS = Embarrrrrrrassing

Loss to the Pats = Somewhat expected, but still painful to watch

Injuries to Parker, MSmith & ASmith = Dang ...

A win over the Jags makes it a successful year from my perspective. A close loss would make it break even. Getting pounded would leave a bad taste for the offseason.

:D C'MON PITTSBURGH!!!! :D

Wellllllllll, that was a perplexing! Four turnovers and two failed 2pt conversions and a failure to stop a 4th down and they walk away with a 1-pt loss at home after battling back from oblivion in one of the biggest late game comebacks in playoff history? :D

Well, at least it was worth watching if you hung in there for the entire game ...

Congrats Jags ... Congrats Jag fans ... :D and

Nice season, Steelers -- now heal up and go draft some linemen!!!!! :D

That's what makes it even more crushing. The emotional rollercoaster...

that's true, but the game was on the verge of getting ugly. pit did a wonderful job keeping their composure and doing what needed to be done to stay in the game (and ultimately take a lead). as a fan with no horse in the race, this is the type of game that makes the playoffs fun.

Great game! Very entertaining! Congrats to the Jags. MJD is a stud. He was the difference-maker in that game. The Steelers showed a lot of heart in coming back from an 18-point deficit in the 2nd half. Big Ben was almost Eli-like in the 1st half but redeemed himself with some big-time throws in the 2nd. I thought he showed a lot of class by patiently waiting at the end of the game for Garrard to finish his interview so he could congratulate him. Hines Ward played his heart out.

So now Jax goes to New England and beats the up so the Colts(sorry SD) will have an easier time? :D

I have been rubbing my hands together like Mr. Burns ever since the game ended last night......."Excellent"

After seeing how many games NE almost lost, they are going to be very surprised when they See Jax next week, this is not the same 2005 team. Jax is scoring 28+ points/game the past 11 weeks, including games against the leagues very best Defenses. I will be very curious to see the line... sure Jax just won a very emotional game, but they will be very hungry next week, in a way I am glad they almost lost to pitt, hopefully it will keep them in the game longer so no more last second heroics are needed when they upset NE.

I'm guessing they will start the line at about 7.5. Just a guess

That was a very physical, draining, and like you said, emotional game.

Saw one of the Jax defensive lineman being interviewed last night and he was saying how they talked about emptying their tank and giving it everything they could. He said "we emptied the tank, we left it all on the field".

That kind of physical game is just what the Pats were hoping for. The Pats played a physical 1st round game against NYJ last year, then went on the road and had a physical and emotional win agains the #1 seed (Chargers), and then nearly knocked off Indy (#2 #3 seed) before having their pass defense implode.

Their goal going into this year was to get that bye, get home field advantage, because they didn't want to have to win IN Indy and IN SD this year. They will not lose this game to Jax (or Tenn).

Edit to fix - Indy was the #3 seed, Ravens were the #2 seed :D

I am surprised I haven't seen anyone bring up the blatant holding call on that 4th and 2 that sprung Garrard to win the game....James Harrison was held or he would have made the stop for sure!!!!

it's been brought up. still up for debate whether he would have prevented a 1st down.

That paled in comparison to Ward dragging his defender across the end Zone by the face mask with a no call. I think the board decided there were bad calls enough to go around.
