'm split on the Packers getting the NFC title game at Lambeau...

...you certainly want your team to be playing the NFC Championship on its home field against a team they've already beaten handily.

But the other side is that this will lead Dallas fans to flap their gums about Green Bay somehow not "earning" a Super Bowl berth IF they beat the Giants at Lambeau.

Dallas had a pretty clear claim to being the best team in the NFC - by virtue of beating the other contender head-to-head - and seeing as I feel that GB played them tough in the first game, I wouldn't have minded seeing the Pack take another shot at the Boys.

Anyway, that said, Dallas apparently wasn't good enough to win ONE game on its home field to make it to the NFC title game. New York just beat Dallas at Texas Stadium, something the Packers failed to do. They also lost convincingly to Dallas twice in the regular season and slew that dragon as well.

NY is good enough to make it to the NFC title game with TWO road wins. I hope GB takes note of all this and buckles down big-time. You'd hate to give anything less than the BEST effort in the title game, win or lose.

Hard to choose between Favre and Strahan. Both really great guys and players. I'll be happy with either team advancing to the SuperBowl.

I'm betting Strahan doesn't have any controversial "sacks" of Favre in this game. :D

Weather forecast for GB for the weekend - single digit temperatures, 12 mph west winds.

Not terrible, but passing will be tough. New York is a northern outdoor team themselves, so that isn't an advantage in and of itself.

Just wanted to chime in as I didn't want to seem like a big crap talker and then not take my medicine afterward. I'm extremely pissed right now and can't/don't even talk about it. Other than congrats to the Giants and their fans, I am livid with the mental errors, penalties and poor play calling in the second half in regard to the Cowboys. What a terrible, ugly game!!

The Pack should be installed as double digit favorites in this game. Not getting cocky here but the G-men are going to have a very tough time covering the Packers WR's.Grant should also pick right up where he left off.As for the Giants pass rush,I just do not see it having much effect on the frozen tundra. This is Favre's best shot at getting back to the Superbowl before he hangs it up and the place is going to be insane.I see the Pack winning 38-24.

I can barely contain myself. I'm very excited that the Pack has made it to the NFC Championship Game. It was a far cry further than I dared to hope back in the preseason. Congrats on the Giants for making it as well, and hope that the game next week is a good one.

That would have to be the biggest concern going in. Even healthy the Giants would have trouble covering the spread offense.

Will need to get heavy pressure and games from Jacobs and Bradshaw like they had in Buffalo.

I'm most excited that I get another week to have a 3 hour coronary attack.

Vegas just came out with lines :

Gb favored by 7

Pats favored by 15 pts

I think giants game wll be close ...well I have to as a diehard giants fan :D

This morning the forecast for sunday is colder and somewhat windy.

Ryan Grant playing the team that traded him could be interesting. Word is TT wanted Derrick Ward but the Giants didn't want to part with him. Nice set of RB's the Giants have. Bradshaw has looked good too.

Sunday, Jan 20

High: 10°F RealFeel®: -3°F

Mostly cloudy and bitterly cold

as a giants fan , i feel like the game may have a destiny theme to it with Favre getting to the SB once again ( perhaps one last time ) against the mighty pats trying to stop the greatest season for a team ever

Then again , Giants maybe on a destiny ride themselves

Then again i may have no idea what i am talking about :D

i will just have my pom poms out and be rooting for the Giants real hard

GO PACK GO!

GO FRICKEN PACK GO!

What a game.

OK Giants, let's get it on.

Concern #1 for the Giants: Eli Manning in single digit temperatures.

Anyone have his record in games below freezing? Or even chilly games?

Forecast as of this second: 6 degrees, partly cloudy.

I think their DB injuries are the biggest concern right now. Ross didn't look good yesterday.

Eli has trouble in windy conditions at home, but I don't know about the cold.
