Meathead to interview in Miami

Tice was not (and probably is still not) ready to be a head coach in the NFL. He only got the gig here because he was the cheapest option for a cheapskate owner. I think he demonstrated rather effectively during his tenure that he doesnt have the ability to make strategic decisions on the fly nor evaluate what is working vs what is not and make adjustments. He is better suited to be a line coach or assistant coach because he does seem to have good chemistry with the players and does have knowlege of the game from a player's POV.

I'd like to see him get another shot. It seems like he did a better job than he gets credit for in Minnie...

Yes! Give him another chance. But, instead of Miami, how about Detroit? Or back to Minn? Bears?

Seriously, if you were rebuilding the Dolphins from the ground up, and you could hire A LOT of different quallity guys, would you hire Tice (edit: as head coach :D )? Is that what I'm hearing?

Of course, it now sounds like that report may be bogus and sanity has carried the day.

Depends on what the job is. He would make a good TE or line coach.

"MIAMI -- At least one Dallas Cowboys player referred to assistant head coach Tony Sparano in the past tense Monday, because he may soon change teams.

The front-runner for the Miami Dolphins' head coaching job, Sparano became available for hire when the Cowboys lost their playoff game Sunday to the New York Giants.

"Tony was an unbelievable coach," Cowboys tight end Jason Witten said. "He'll be a great head coach, and this team will definitely miss him if he gets that opportunity."

On Monday, Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz became the fourth candidate to interview with the Dolphins. He may be the last candidate considered.

Sparano, who worked with new Dolphins boss Bill Parcells and new general manager Jeff Ireland when they were in Dallas, interviewed Jan. 5 with Miami. The Dolphins also interviewed Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier and former Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Rex Ryan."
