whomper
To the true Pats fans on the boards, and we all know who you are, congrats and good luck chasing perfection. The Giants have proved they dont deserve a rub on the head, they deserve to be taken seriously or they may add the Pats to the list. There is 2 weeks leading up to the game . Lets have some good football discussion instead of ridiculous ,3rd grade ,low rent nonsense. Be responsible for your posts. Trash talking is as old as Ursa and will never go away but there is a decent way to do it and a way to do it that gets threads deleted and discussions ended. I have had many great back and forths on these boards and have probably thrown a shot on the beltline a few times myself but this morning I am reading some stuff that is just making me really scratch my head. Ill step off the soapbox now. Lets enjoy what brought us here. Football

I am truly impressed with how the Giants have pulled it all together and have played not only ending the Regular Season but through the first 3 rounds of the playoffs now. The banged up secondary has managed to handle their business while the front 7 continue to get pressure, force some mistakes and be a force to be reckoned with. The combo of Jacobs and Bradshaw makes for a very solid rushing attack and Eli is playing mistake-free football. He's managing the game beautifully, making some really nice/accurate throws and taking the shots when they're there. If they can keep playing the way they've been, score TDs when they get in the redzone on the Pats instead of kicking FGs, they very well could pull off the upset. GO GIANTS!!! Vinatieri Is God
Thanks. No way Pats are looking past the Gmen. They showed they can play with anyone. Their D-line is very fast and very scary. The only way to stop Brady is to get a lot of pressure (or make it 10 degrees and windy). Eli has taken it to a new level. Plaxico seems healthy now and is really playing well. I will be stressed about this game for two weeks. At least I'll be in Vegas on Fri and Sat then Phoenix on Sunday AM.

Football Nice post, Although, I was hoping for a GB victory The Pats will have their hands full provided Manning continues to play like he has been. He shredded the Pats for 4TDs 3 weeks ago. I don't like the line being 13.5 it shows no respect for the Giants who have surprised everyone the last 3 weeks. I think this SB is going to be an air assault and a high scoring game with the Pats pulliing out the W and going 19-0 for The Perfect Season. Caveman_Nick
I think Eli has finally shown why he deserved to be the number 1 pick in that draft. His play has been excellent, and that Giants defense is fearsome. There is no way the Pats take this team lightly. They went to the wire in week 17 and won 3 road games that nobody thought they could win to get here. Here's hoping that the lottery likes me today

untateve
If the superbowl were this sunday, I think the giants would have a better chance to win. Given that Bellichick has two weeks to prepare, I do not believe that there is anyway the patriots lose. Say what you want about Bellichick, he is a wizard. CaptainHook
I tell you this, I am now a firm believer in not resting players. Even more so than after the Colts flame-out last week. The Pats and Giants both had nothing to gain by playing Week 17 like it mattered. They both did. They are both in the Super Bowl. I don't think it's a coincidence. It seems that you lose your sense of urgency when you start resting players early. Edited January 21, 2008 by CaptainHook

matt770
I think Eli has finally shown why he deserved to be the number 1 pick in that draft. I am in shock by Eli's play. Seriously, look at how he was playing as recently as last month and look at him now. He's a different QB. I don't know how to explain it and I hope it is here to stay. I've been having this nagging feeling that Shockey and his distracting ego and the negative energy that he brings to the huddle and the sideline, being gone now has had a positive effect. I was waiting for the TV hosts to start talking about that and they finally did just recently. Not saying Shockey was all to blame for Eli's troubles, not even close. But I believe strongly that his absence has been a positive, granted having Boss there has helped immensely.

I Like Soup
I am looking forward to the Super Bowl, as many obviously are. My initial thoughts for the game?... I think the Giants have been playing above themselves. Granted, you have to win three road games, which is difficult, especially in the playoffs. I felt the Giants could handle the Bucs, and I also felt that the Cowboys weren't exactly playing their respective best heading in to the post season. I also think Green Bay's schedule probably made them look like a stronger 13-3 team than they were. Making excuses for the Giants winning?...no way. Like I said, they had to travel and win in some difficult venues. I do think with the Giants defense playing the way they are, you get a questionable team on the other side of the ball and they will be able to make some things happen. Now, the Patriots...admittedly, they are coming out of the AFC East with double wins against the Dolphins, Jets, and Bills. They have at least played high quality opponents such as Indy and lets face it, there is certainly pressure with a perfect season on the line every week. Week in and week out I would think this is the week the Patriots lose...and they find a way to win if it isn't in their methodical destruction mode of play with all guns blazing. I don't think this game will mirror the last game of the season where the Giants just played lights out and still lost. I do think the Patriots will win. I also think the Giants will be competitive, due mainly to that running game of theirs but ultimately be worn down by the end of the 3rd quarter. I expect this one to be a grind. Pass me a beer... vonromig
Not even worth watching. The New England Cheaters and New York Giants is just about the worse Superbowl matchup... except maybe for the Raider - Tampa Bay one. Von
