SuperCharger
http://www.nypost.com/seven/01252008/sport...o_fa_767119.htm But there's an easy explanation, Burress says, for the perception the Patriots' receivers are a cut above the rest. "They've got Tom Brady," Burress said. Is it really smart to dis your QB a week before the big show?

msaint
Ouch. If Vegas lays odds of Toomer and Steve Smith getting more targets than Plaxico next Sunday, jump on it.
Bill Swerski
I don't see how saying that a future-HOF QB makes his receivers better is a slam on Eli. Everybody knows it's true and everybody also knows that Eli isn't as talented as Brady.

Caveman_Nick
Right. And it could be true your wife is a couple pounds overweight, but would you tell her? Bill Swerski
Right. And it could be true your wife is a couple pounds overweight, but would you tell her? If I said that, she'd remind me that she's a size 6 and that I'm the one who needs to lose weight. So, if Art Monk said that the only difference between him and Jerry Rice was that Jerry had Joe Montana, Doug Williams and Mark Rypien would be incredibly offended? I don't think so. tonyr0802
I see no point in making this comment no matter how true it may or may not be. Heading into the biggest game of their season/careers and Plax wants to make a comment that could cause issues between him/Eli or in the least become a distraction. Pretty sure he had a good game against GB, Brady wasn't throwing the ball to him then was he? Stupid move Plax, down right dumb.

But do you really think he is smart? A reporter was probably beefing the Pats WR's and Plexiglass fell right into the trap.

Bill Swerski
They'd be too busy laughing their asses off to be offended. I must admit that I chuckled when Plax inferred that he's just as good as Moss.
Uncle Wiggy
So you want him to say Eli's better? How is this dissing his QB exactly? No - you want him to say nothing. Or how about something like... REPORTER - "the Patriots receivers are generally considered better the Giants receivers. How do you feel about that?" PLAX - "I like the group of receivers we have in this locker room. It's a good mix of veterans and up and comers. I like our chances with this group". Saying they have Brady is the same as saying we only have Eli. It's stupid. How would Plax respond if Eli said "my numbers would be more like Brady's if I had a Hall of Fame receiver like Randy Moss"?

The comment may also have been taken completely out of context.
budlitebrad
I must admit that I chuckled when Plax inferred that he's just as good as Moss. "His New York Giants teammates have blasted him for “quitting” on them. He has told his coach to lighten up and routinely throws on-field tantrums when his quarterback doesn’t get him the ball. He’s been labeled aloof, injury-prone and a malcontent." Replace NY Giants with Vikings and it sounds like Randy to me. isleseeya
as long as plex puts up another 11 receptions for 150 + yards in his next game , i could care less if he says that Dan pastorini is better than Johnny Unitas
