Tally
Sorry, no link, I heard it on NFL Network about 15 minutes ago. It happened in a club in Louisiana last night. They said Grant was in stable conditions but a pregnant woman was shot to death. As a dad that makes me sick to my stomach….we’ll see if their no snitching policy allows a murderer to walk around free again.

Tally
What no snitching policy? a common policy among thugs not rat out murders, rapist and other violent criminals like in the Tupac and Ray Lewis murder cases.

piratesownninjas
That's what you take from this story? Not that a pregnant woman and her unborn baby were killed? That's the one thing that really bothers me... That an innocent bystander was shot and killed... All because of two people not being able to wear big boy pants and just leave. tbimm
That's what you take from this story? Not that a pregnant woman and her unborn baby were killed? Yes the fact that a pregnant women and her baby were killed sucks and i'm very sorry that is the case. I was only commenting on the FOOTBALL side of things. I try to stay out of the failure that is our social structure. The way that story read it sounds like Grant will be dealing with this for quite some time. Until the facts come out I will assume nothing! The way things have been going with professional athletes nothing really surprises me and I have been kind of desensitized by it all. Sorry! rajncajn
From the accounts I've read so far it seems Grant's cousin & this guy Possum got into an altercation. When Grant tried to leave with his cousin this Possum guy came at the car. Charles cousin pulls out a gun & Charles tried to take it from him. When he did it went off & the girl was hit. Then, I'm guessing Possum took out the knife & stabbed Charles in the neck. Big boy pants is right...WTH is wrong with these idiots that they think they need to whip out a gun any time they have a disagreement? I feel for the woman & her family because they got caught in the middle of these idiots and I really hope Charles was no more involved than what has been reported so far. From what I've seen & heard of him he's a really down-to-earth, fun-loving guy. As far as I know he's never been in any kind of trouble before, I hope it remains that way. However, if he was more involved I hope justice has it's day.

gbpfan1231
Why the hell does that matter at this point? Because it is always the same story with these athletes. It is the ghetto thugs that have money and it is usually the tagalongs that end up causing a lot of the trouble.

But, apparently a pregnant woman was shot to death and an NFL football player is in stable condition. I'm not sure what playing the race card solves at this point. Why do guys like you and BeeR swap sand back and forth from your peach fish orifices?

I guess I forgot that I am white so I can't bring anything up about race but if you are not white then you can say anything you want. It is horrible that a pregant woman died and another man is hurt (I don't care if it is an athlete or not). The point is that these thugs continuously get into situations like this but I guess we should just say that it sucks someone died but push everything else under the rug. Something should be done to try and stop this from happening time and time again.

In Dallas there are a few clubs in Deep Ellum, which used to be an arts district in Dallas up until that whore Laura Miller killed it, but that's another story. Anyways, those clubs are mainly non white clubs, they do have a lot of problems around closing time, and there has been way too many shootings and a few deaths that have resulted from those shootings. A few miles down the highway, there is a huge Tejano club, a few times a year there are a few murders in the parking lot after closing time. A few miles away from there, you'll find a country western club/bar Fights and guns have also found there way into those parking lots. Maybe it's not the color of the people, just the idiots that let the alcohol in there blood, the ego, and the lack of testicular fortitude to allow them to be a man and settle things without violence. I don't think it's a color thing, I think it's an idiot thing.
rajncajn
http://www.nola.com/saints/t-p/index.ssf?/....xml&coll=1 Grant depicted as bar brawl victimDE says his injuries are 'nothing major' Tuesday, February 05, 2008 By Jimmy Smith Although he was injured in an incident at a Blakely, Ga., bar early Sunday morning, Saints defensive end Charles Grant was no instigator or willing participant, according to police. Capt. Will Caudill, chief investigator for the Early County Sheriff's Office, said that though the fracas is still under investigation, there appears to be no connection between Grant and a pregnant woman who died after being struck by gunfire, and Grant was a victim, not a perpetrator. Korynda Reed, 23, of Blakely, was pronounced dead at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Ala. Caudill said investigators are still awaiting autopsy results that are being performed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab. "Right now, I don't know of any connection between the two," Caudill said Monday. "It appears that Ms. Reed was just a bystander who was struck by gunfire, and Mr. Grant was a victim of assault. We don't know if she was ever in the club." On Monday, Grant said that his injuries were not serious, but he referred all other questions about the incident to his attorney. "I'm good," Grant said by cell phone. "I'm good. It's nothing major. I'm up moving, walking. I'm good." Grant said he was taken to the Early Memorial Hospital by ambulance. "But I was good," Grant said. Grant suffered a stab wound, possibly from a glass bottle, in the back right side of the neck, his attorney, Edward Tolley of Athens, Ga., said Monday. The Saints again Monday said they would have no comment. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Monday the league was aware of the incident but would not comment. "He's very fortunate," Tolley said Monday. "We're so grateful (the wound) missed everything. He could have been seriously injured, but blessedly it missed any major arteries or his spine." Tolley said the wound was stitched inside and out and that by Sunday night, Grant was his customary jovial self. Tolley, who went to Blakely on Sunday evening to gather facts, said it was his understanding that the woman who was killed was not part of the altercation, but a victim of random gunfire. While Tolley said that Grant was reportedly "bleeding profusely" from the wound, there was no significant blood loss. "Clearly, whoever struck Charles struck him from behind," Tolley said. "He's getting follow-up medical attention today. But he'll be fine. There wasn't enough blood loss to have endangered his life." According to Caudill, the fight began inside Club 92, a nightclub on North Church Street in Blakely, about 190 miles southwest of Atlanta about 1 a.m. "It carried over outside, and that's where we believe Mr. Grant was assaulted," Caudill said. "It took place on the street. He's clearly the victim of an assault, but we can't comment beyond that. It was a melee; there were several different fights." Caudill questioned Grant about the incident but said he didn't know about the severity of Grant's injury. "He was pretty well bandaged up by the time I got there," Caudill said. No arrests were made. The case remains under investigation, according to Caudill. Tolley said no one seems to know what precipitated the fight. "There were a couple of young men in there fighting, but Charles was not part of the fight," Tolley said. "He's a big guy. He kind of stands out in a crowd. This wasn't one of those deals where Charles went in and started a fight. He wasn't even drinking. I think that's important for people to know."
