MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Jailed quarterback Michael Vick can keep nearly $20 million in bonus money he received from the Atlanta Falcons following a ruling Monday by a federal judge.

The Falcons sought to recover the bonuses after Vick pleaded guilty to federal charges in a dogfighting operation. The bonuses were paid from 2004-07.

A special master ruled in October the Falcons were entitled to recover the bonuses. The Falcons argued Vick used proceeds from a contract he signed in 2004 to finance his illicit activities.

But U.S. District Judge David Doty of Minneapolis ruled that recovery of the bonus money by the Falcons would violate the NFL collective bargaining agreement. The agreement does not allow signing bonuses to be forfeited for years a player has already performed.

Looks like Vick will have a little something (unless the lawyers take it all) waiting for him if/when he gets out of prison.

YaY! Let's get Vick back in the news! Can we talk about him all offseason again?! :D

:D

I'd rather talk about Favre all off season again.

And Madden's love affair with him.

Michael Vick is reportedly washing pots and pans for 12 cents an hour and playing football in prison.

"Apparently, there was a prison football team and he played quarterback for both sides," Falcons owner Arthur Blank said. Blank keeps in touch with his former franchise player via the mail. Vick's projected date of release is July 20, 2009.

Heard on Atlanta's Sports Talk Radio 680AM The Fan, that the trial date for the state of Virginia's Dog Fighting Case against him has been pushed back to June.

We'll have to wait until then to find how many additional years (if any) he'll have to serve.

How can he get tried twice? Is it for different charges?

Ya think he spent more on hookers or blow?

My guess is cigarettes so he could buy the hos and blows in da joint.

Would someone please explain to me the rational reason that we are revisiting this?

It's news about something (remotely) football related during the off-season. Lighten up Francis.

Close. The correct answer, of course, is rims.

Things you smoke (including Josh Gordon and cigs) was 2nd.

Hookers 3rd.

Blow 4th.

Hitting the open receiver. 1,003rd.

First of all, there is no new information here. Secondly, nothing Vick is doing right now is related to the NFL. Thirdly, it was bumped up for no apparent reason by a notorious Vick sack-swinger.

My inquiry was hardly unreasonable.

I wasn't really trying to bust balls either. It's just the off season. Otherwise known as that time of the year for foolish digressions. Which is the whole reason I responded to this topic at all.
