Duchess Jack
I have been a Dolphins fan long enough to reserve my excitement... I have to say though that things are looknig promising. Parcells. We have his football mind w/o the problems he brings ((old school in a world that doesn't work that way any more)). I am really excited to see him at work in the draft Jeff Ireland - front office big factor in cowboys last few drafts Sparano as HC- seems like a hugh character guy and everyone says the game starts in the trenches. This cat was an oline coach. To know the oline you have to know the dline. Henning as OC - He made Delhomme a stud and saw a season where Mushin lead the league in catches. Paul Pasqualoni DC - Former Cowboys linebackers coach Todd Bowles assistant head coach - former cowboys dbacks coach Special Teams Coach - John Bonamego - I don't know too much about this cat. He spent the past nine seasons as a special teams coach or assistant special teams coach with New Orleans, Green Bay and Jacksonville. In 2002, the last of his four seasons with the Jaguars, he worked with Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano. James Saxon - RB Coach - Played running back for the Dolphins from 1992 to 1994. RB coach in KC. Sent Holmes, LJ and Richardson to the pro-bowl. Mike Maser O Line Coach - Oline Coach from the Panthers dline coach haven't hired one yet David Lee QB Coach - Ole Miss offensive coordinator Karl Dorrell WR Coach - Dorrell was fired last month by UCLA, where he went 35-27 and led the Bruins to a bowl appearance in each of his five seasons. UCLA finished 6-7 this season. Before joining the Bruins, Dorrell was wide receivers coach for the Denver Broncos in 2000-02. Jime Reid - Outside Linebackers coach - Reid's two years as Virginia Military Institute's head coach -- his most recent job -- were his 16th and 17th seasons as a college head coach. Steve Bush Offensive QC Coach Bush was an assistant coach at New Haven with Sparano and, as Syracuse defensive backs coach in 2000 George DeLeone TEs coach ?? Front Row
I believe they will improve in all phases. Appears they are making a great effort . I see at least 5 wins next yr. perhaps more. The draft and offseason should be a good one with BP doing the shopping.

Duchess Jack
Agreed. And once they find some - they might move on it. If JT wants to go - I'd have no problem trading him. He's put his time time - I like to see him try to get a ring. The same goes for Zach - but I don't think that we'd get a good return on him. Ricky... again - not too sure if we'd get a good enough return. I don't know who we have beyond those cats... Only people I am crazy about holding on to are Crowder, L Booker, Hagan, Ginn, Roth, Ronnie, Beck and our Samoans. Everyone elses pretty much sucks. ((though I am sure I missed a couple people))

((though I am sure I missed a couple people)) you missed a lot... V. Carey, Satele (you shouldn't group all the samoans), W. Allen, some of the young guys who played well like R. Wright and Q. Moses on the DLine... Jason Allen impressed when finally getting playing time in the secondary... but anyway, i like the coaching staff we put together... Love Dorrell as the WR coach and Henning as our OC, both should mean good things for Beck and Ginn... i think we need to resign Rex Hadnot and Yerehmiah Bell and work on infusing more youth into the defense through the draft, especially on the Dline and at LB... develop Beck, pick up another WR (or 2 if we drop booker) through FA, find a replacement for Shelton at RT, and see if some of the young olineman we have (Mormino, Toledo if he can stay healthy) can play LG, if not get someone... GET HEALTHY! Ronnie brown, Yerehmiah Bell, Andre Goodman, Reynaldo Hill, etc hopefully get them ready for the start of the season... especially Ronnie! i just hope we can keep a coaching staff together so that the players can get comfortable instead of switching systems every damn season... thats really a detriment to everybody... and i hope we dont give up on Beck, i think he can be a real player in this league... Duchess Jack
I grouped the Samoans together as I have this voltron picture in my head where they are better together than they are apart. Good call on Carey and Wright. I still have issues with J Allen. I didn't get the ticket this year (first time in six years) and it was hard for me to see his improvement without it with the season we just had. We have some decent guys in our secondary - but I am not married to anybody. Whatever the case - they know the team better then I do, so... to them and their efforts ((edited to add - I also have concerns with them not sticking with Beck)) Edited February 5, 2008 by Duchess Jack

Dutch Oven
David Lee was actually Arkansas' QB coach last year. He left with Nutt and was going to coach at Ole Miss. He was with the Cowboys before that.
SF409ers
((edited to add - I also have concerns with them not sticking with Beck)) I was wondering what you Dolphins homers think about this guy. I inherited him on a dynasty team this year and have been doing a little research on him. I believe I read that they have asked him to "bulk-up" a bit this off season and also I thought I read somewhere where he was one of only 2 guys that the "front office" spoke with (forgot the details and will try to find links), I assume that that has to bode somewhat well for him. I also read somewhere that "Parcells" (??) really liked Flacco and he may be someone they try and target in the second round or so. Again sorry I don't have links, It is all info I picked up scouring the web and it could be all "useless", I was just curious to hear any thoughts on him as I don't really know much about him. I am thinking I will stash this kid because it seems the Dolphins could be headed in the right direction and show some promise in the near future. Didn't their QB coach help develop Romo? bigrocks
The jury has to be out on Beck. He looked like a rookie when he played. ... not surprisingly. They do have to take a long look at him this preseason though since there is an investment there and he may prove solid. My gut says the Dolphins sign a veteran FA QB with some upside (unlike Trent Green), and have a two-way QB competition.
4th&goal
Anyone hear anything on Chad Johnson saying that he wanted to be traded to the Dolphins or he would sit out next yr?
piratesownninjas
Anyone hear anything on Chad Johnson saying that he wanted to be traded to the Dolphins or he would sit out next yr? I didn't read anything on the Dolphins. He said that he wanted to play for "Your team" when talking to some Boston radio hosts and then told some people from Carolina that 89+85=Super Bowl. There is no chance, at least in my mind that he'd want to go to Miami and have to deal with developing a young quarterback at his age. He wants to win, so he wouldn't go somewhere where there is a lot of building to do. I did read that his agent said that Chad Johnson won't hold out, and will be with the Bungles next year. 4th&goal
That's what I had thought. Didn't make sense to go to another struggling team. Thanks.

Flypaste
I knew I read that somewhere. This was on my local's league site. I don't think the quote it is worth much. Jan 29 2008 02:55PMMark Curnutte, of The Cincinnati Enquirer, reports Cincinnati Bengals WR Chad Johnson is asking to be traded to the Miami Dolphins. Duchess Jack
Chad Johnson would actually want to come to here to Miami? agreed. much adu about nothing. I don't want him. we would not be good enough quickly enough to make anything of the investment I've her whispers of Cpep though and would gladly take him as our vet to compete with Beck
