Randall
The Miami Dolphins today terminated the contracts of wide receiver Marty Booker, quarterback Trent Green, tackle L.J. Shelton and defensive tackle Keith Traylor, the team announced. In addition, the team waived tackle Anthony Alabi, defensive tackle Anthony Bryant, tackle Marion Dukes, defensive tackle Marquay Love and tackle Joe Toledo. “This is never easy, especially since all of these players worked hard during their tenure here,” Dolphins General Manager Jeff Ireland said. “In particular, in the case of each of the veterans, it’s especially difficult to release players who have been productive and valued members of the organization. However, we feel these decisions are in the best interest of the team. “I want to thank all of them for their contributions to the Dolphins and wish them good luck.” No Ricky Wiliams though. Randall
Interesting They probably see him as value and a trade prospect if they don't want him. They could always drop him later. They probably want to see what they have first.

Ursa Majoris
I think Marty Booker can help some teams out still.... As #4 or #5, maybe but he is more likely done, IMO.
CaptainHook
I think Marty Booker can help some teams out still.... he dropped a lot of balls last year when I did see him play
darin3
As #4 or #5, maybe but he is more likely done, IMO. On a garbage team like the Fins, he probably looked done. But... he dropped a lot of balls last year when I did see him play I didn't see him play much. Perhaps he'd see some level of rejuvenation on a team with an actual QB. I think the guy could be a solid possession guy like Bobby Engram.
budlitebrad
Booker will probably float around like McCardell/Moulds for a couple years.
BumpNRun
Watching him play for a few years now, I could def. see him as a pos. receiver, but not a number 1 or 2. He did drop some balls, but made some key catches on key downs...and yeah I know they lost all those games.........It is a re start for them, especially with Parcells cleaning house.....IMO
BeeR
Too bad for Booker. He was an underrated WR who had the bad luck of playing for pathetic passing Os. I'd like to see the Colts give him a look (on the cheap of course).

Scourge
I think that this is just what this team needs right now. Shake it all up and get some fresh meat in there. I hope they can get it together.

Randall
Ricky was actually re-signed by Tuna a month or so ago. Link Yes he was, but it may be because they aren't sure what they want to do with him. He presents value. He didn't say if he wants to keep him. If they do a tandem of Ricky and Brown could be formidable. If they show him off at TC a trade is a possibility too. Why not sign him just in case they like him? There is really no downside. darin3
Welker I thought it, I just didn't wanna say it... ... but it's probably going a little too far to say that Booker could put up Welker-esque numbers, but I'd say he's pretty close to Bobby Engram in terms of age (3 years younger, actually) and ability as a "possession receiver". In fact, Engram put up his BEST stats of his career last year (by far)... why couldn't Booker do the same?
dmarc117
he Bears have been contacted about re-signing receiver Marty Booker, an NFL source said Tuesday. Booker, cut by the Miami Dolphins, has drawn interest from a number of teams. The Bears were not among the initial group which contacted Booker within 24 hours of his release, but Booker reportedly has made it clear that his first preference would be a return to Chicago. The Bears will need an extra body at receiver with Bernard Berrian bound for free agency on Feb. 29 and Muhsin Muhammad possibly not in the team's plans. Plus general manager Jerry Angelo always liked Booker, who made the Pro Bowl with the Bears after the 2003 season. Booker still holds the team record for receptions in a season with 100 in 2001. He followed with 97 catches during his Pro Bowl season.
