NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- A lawsuit filed Friday by a former St. Louis Rams player and others seeks millions of dollars in damages from the alleged taping of Rams practices by the New England Patriots before the 2002 Super Bowl.

The Patriots won the game 20-17 in the Superdome.

The $100 million suit, filed on behalf of former Rams player Willie Gary in U.S. District Court in New Orleans, names the Patriots, team owner Robert Kraft and head coach Bill Belichick.

I honestly believe that if the tapes were available to be seen, we'd all be able to see how ludicrous this all is. They showed several minutes of the one that was confiscated 7 minutes into the Jest game. It was pretty useless as it stood. It would really have put all this to bed.

Reminds me of the old lady that sued because she spilled hot coffee on herself.

He figures if he gets .05% of that law suit he'll make alot of free money.

Issn't that what a lot of people do when they get in car accidents? Whiplash!

This is a big old can of worms that isn't just going to go away. If I was a player that missed out on my one chance to win a Super Bowl and all this tape stuff is true, I would be mighty pissed.

Being on a winning Super Bowl team changes your life.

Yeah, but would you get that joy if you got your "SuperBowl ring" via court decision or forefeiture.

What gets me is that Kraft by all accounts is supposed to be a great owner and a stand up good guy in the league but his name is getting dragged through the mud along with everyone else. Makes me wonder how long he will take his own character assassination.

Hellifiknow, maybe you should ask Roger Goodell since it was his decision.

Conspiracy theories abound, pick one and run with it. There's no way to undestroy it though, so how are you ever going to be satisfied?

I'm not looking for satisfaction, but even a Pats fan would have to admit it's a bit curious about the tapes' destruction, don'tcha think?
