Sam Adams Double Bock

Sam Adams Imperial Pilsner (not bad at all at 8.8% ABV) - are you surprised I like it Bier :D

Also picked up a 4-pack of Flying Dog Double Dog IPA. Haven't tried it yet but it's 10.5% ABV.

Well the 4 Imperials packed a decent wallop.

I just finished my second Double Dog. This beer is only for those extremely fond of hops. The effect of the high alcohol content is evident after just two. :D

I am down to three beers in the fridge. One Flying Dog IPA (which I recommend) and two Stella's.

I went out drinking with an English guy a few weeks ago and he said that if the sale of Stella was banned in England that this incidence of wife-beating would fall dramatically (because he was basically arguing that stella is the drink of choice of the British trailer-trash set).

if you like it, you should try the germans. spaten optimator, paulaner salvator, ayinger celebrator, etc. yum.

I was going to follow up with the same advice. I don't think I've had Sam's Double Bock, but I doubt it would be as good as an authentic Celebrator.

Does Sam's still brew the Lambic that really isn't a Lambic?

I remembered this post on Wednesday night as I had dinner with a few people from our Amsterdam office. One of the guys is English so the first thing I asked him was if Stella was considered cheap crappy beer in London (sort of like Corona is in Mexico). He said it's actually positioned as a premium beer there and was too expensive to actually be considered for the market your friend describes.

He did spend 6 years working in Belgium however and said it is sold as nothing more than middle of the road beer there.
