Swampnuts
Kind of a fun read, it's an old article Mel Kiper did on the 01 draft class. I got a great laugh out of the "blue chip" Freddie Mitchell. http://espn.go.com/melkiper/s/2001/0227/1113401.html#

Florida State's Jamal Reynolds ran a solid 4.7(all the way to the bank) Keep Hasselbeck and pick... Michigan's Steve Hutchinson ran well, meaning he remains up there with the top 7- 12 players available in the draft.

irish
You know it's tough to rag on a guy after the fact. Hindsight is almost always 20/20. So what, he was wrong. He's trying to project the talent for the next level. I'm sure that there were a ton of people out there that agreed with him when he said Andre Ware was going to be a great pro or that Freddie Mitchell was a blue-chip player. It's like people ragging on DMD for being wrong when it comes to FF. It's his opinion just like it's Kiper's and they do their best just doing their homework and informing the public based on what they think will happen. When they're wrong, it just makes them human. Sure poke a little fun but cut a guy some slack. He's certainly not always right, he may not even be the best at what he does but Kiper and the NFL draft go hand in hand and I can't wait for things to start heating up again! irish
Well for some people we usually rag on them before they say anything around here Geez Kiper is an a$$ anyway Definitely agree on the first point and sometimes agree on the second. We should think about cutting those guys that we rag on around here before they say anything a little slack too. Ah screw it, give 'em hell along with Kiper!! You are really one strange person. I've tried to avoid bashing on you in the past, but you really are one weird dude. I was simply stating it was a fun read and I put it out there because I thought you guys might enjoy it.
irish
You are really one strange person. I've tried to avoid bashing on you in the past, but you really are one weird dude. I was simply stating it was a fun read and I put it out there because I thought you guys might enjoy it. There's no need for a bash or even the mention of one. Sure it's a fun read and my comments were not neccesarily directed at you as others have also gotten a good laugh at Kiper. I was more or less saying that it's really anyone's guess what's going to happen with college players at the next level and that the more I hear from Kiper the closer it is to draft day and the NFL season kicking into high gear. Thanks for sharing the link. Edited February 18, 2008 by irish
broncosn05
Did someone say Vick? I didn't think LT was/is 4.38 speed.
irish
Did someone say Vick?I didn't think LT was/is 4.38 speed. Depends what you're talking about. If it's in regard to running a 40...then no 4.38 doesn't apply to LT. But if you're talking about minutes he plays in big playoff games or seconds it takes him to put his sideline trenchcoat on while riding the pine, then yes 4.38 applies. Well yes, but that would be "ragging on him" and we don't do that there.

When you get paid the big bucks, you get paid to get ragged on after the fact and deal with it. Cash buys a mighty thick skin.
