Bring Back Pat!!!
TE Dallas Clark. Interesting Colts franchise tag Edited February 20, 2008 by Bring Back Pat!!!
kpholmes
Plays a major role in their offense. With Harrison finally getting up there in age, and the young Gonzalez learning the offense, it's important to keep as many pieces in place as you can. Good decision imo. Bill Swerski
ESPN is reporting he's signed a six-year deal. Link. Wow, I didn't expect this after they just gave Sanders and Freeney long-term deals. Glad to hear that he'll be there for the long-term, though. Given this and the way that Gonzalez developed over the course of this past season, one has to wonder how much longer Marvin will be around. Certainly this season, but who knows after that. I imagine that some of the good-but-not-great guys making $4+ million a year (Diem, Brock) may not be around in 2010.
Clubfoothead
Can they franchise someone else now? Seems like a waste of the franchise tag to use it at 12:09 only to sign him to a longterm deal at 7:35 the same evening. Nobody else they could/want to use it on? Not arguing with either move, just curious about the logistics of it.

CaptainHook
I don't think they have another guy they would use it on though. The only starter left unsigned is guard Jake Scott.
