Travis Henry-RB- Broncos Feb. 21 - 8:51 am et

Travis Henry has agreed to a restructured contract that will keep him in Denver for the upcoming season.

He gave up his entire $6 million option bonus, according to NFL Network. It's a smart move for Henry. The Broncos aren't ready to pass the starting job onto Selvin Young, and Henry staying makes it far less likely that they'll use a high pick on an RB. Henry's style still suits the one-cut system, and he was productive in 2007 when healthy, leading the NFL in rushing the for first month. While we're skeptical he'll be a great fantasy option, he'll come more cheaply this year and is the favorite to start and get goal-line carries.

Does anyone think Henry will do as well as he did the first month last year with the Broncos? He led the league for the 1st month of the season. I think that if he stays healthy and away from the Josh Gordon he can have a decent season.

Henry has potentially very good value pending DEN addressing its D woes that 1) allows its O to be on the field instead of watching from the sideline, and 2) keeps DEN from playing from behind.

His value will still be impacted by Young, since Young showed beyond question that he can play at the NFL level. Of course, I thought Mike Bell would make some impact last year also given how strongly he started camp last year and how well he ran the year before year, and he became an afterthought in the DEN running situation with virtually no warning whatsoever. With Shanahan it's always so damn difficult to fugure out where his head is regarding his RBs until about week 3 in the preseason. With this news, I wouldn't expect DEN to be using any picks before round 4 on RBs.
