Where does DJ Hackett play this year?

Wouldn't mind seeing him in DEN, which would move Stokley back into the slot. He's a former Buff, so he has ties here.

But you already signed Keary Colbert to fight Stokely for the #2 job in Denver. :brew::D:D Not sure what Shanny was thinking there!!

Looks like the Panthers have entered the D.J. derby. :D

We certainly need some help at WR to take some coverage off Steve Smith.

Hackett Visiting Buccaneers

Free agent WR D.J. Hackett is scheduled to visit with the Buccaneers on Wednesday.

Hackett is also slated to visit the Panthers on Friday. After a very quiet first week of free agency, Hackett's schedule is starting to get busy. It's still too early to tell, however, exactly how much fantasy value he will have with any of the team's he has met with.

Looks like it won't be in D.C.

(KFFL) The NFL Network reports free-agent WR D.J. Hackett (Seahawks) reportedly turned down a contract offer from the Washington Redskins.

John Clayton was talking about Hackett on local sports radio 950 KJR this afternoon. He said that the Skins offered Hackett THE MINIMUM.

Clayton went on to say that the market for Wide Receivers does not exist anymore as of two weeks ago. Guys are signing really short deals in hopes that the market improves in coming years. This has to be somewhat good news for the Seahawks. If he really does want to sign a long deal for not a lot of money, the Seahawks can do that. Hopefully Tampa and Carolina don't offer much more.

 I am glad they did not offer a billion dollars like they have in the past but surely Hackett is worth more than the minimum.

Hackett in the mix with the Panthers

Looks like he may make his decision sometime later today. Per the article the Panthers are his top team should he leave Seattle and his agent his exchanging numbers with the Panthers today.

I would love to see us land him as he would be an immediate upgrade at the #2 spot opposite SS and give Jake another good option with teams roll too much coverage towards SS as Hackett has the ability to make them pay. :D

Hopefully, he will decide to go with us as we could certainly use his talent to help the offense.

No kidding. At least offer him $2 million for one year or $1M with incentives.

from rotoworld.....

Panthers agreed to terms with WR D.J. Hackett on a two-year, $3.5 million contract, according to Scout.com's Adam Caplan.

While Hackett has dealt with injuries, he's been highly productive when healthy and is only 26. In Carolina, he becomes the top candidate to start opposite Steve Smith with Muhsin Muhammad likely working from the slot. Dwayne Jarrett will compete with Ryne Robinson to be the fourth receiver. Hackett has vertical and red-zone ability and should draw some attention away from Smith. His addition is good news for all Panthers skill players besides Jarrett. Expect solid WR3/4 numbers if Hackett starts.

Panthers sign Hackett

Glad to see my earlier post was on the mark and we landed the best remaining WR FA on the market. Good news for my Panthers! : :D
