i_am_the_swammi
Let's see... Last year, Stallworth walked away from more money to sign with the Patriots for less. This past weekend, as per 610WIP, the Eagles offered Randy Moss a 3-year deal worth just north of $28M, and he told them "thanks, but no thanks", and re-signed with with Patriots for $1M less. Something tells me the sales pitch being offered by the Eagles is is need of some tweeking. Either that, or the luster from all our Super Bowl trophies must be blinding the free agents. Zooty
Let's see... Last year, Stallworth walked away from more money to sign with the Patriots for less. Good, not really a loss since Curtis was better This past weekend, as per 610WIP, the Eagles offered Randy Moss a 3-year deal worth just north of $28M, and he told them "thanks, but no thanks", and re-signed with with Patriots for $1M less. According to WIP, do you have a real source? Something tells me the sales pitch being offered by the Eagles is is need of some tweeking. Either that, or the luster from all our Super Bowl trophies must be blinding the free agents. But they got Samuel. They didn't have a problem in the past getting big-ticket guys on the odd occasion when they actually pursued them (Runyan, Kearse, Samuel) They Stallworth deal was deceptive. he may have left actually thinking he was going to get that huge bonus this year. I don't think they do that bad of a good getting the few big name guys that they actually go after. Of course I don't listen to WIP either.......... ebartender
Actually Howard Eskin said today that the Eagles offered Moss more then the Pats. I can't stand Eskin, but he is usually on point with the Eagles and who they are going after. That being said, if you were Moss and could sign with New England for $27M or Philly for $28M what would you do? I would give up $1M to have Brady as my QB over McNabb if I was in his shoes. They have unfinished business in NE. They came 1 game short of perfection and the difference was only 1 million bucks. Brady will end up one of the best qbs of all time . Its a no brainer for Moss . Philly always has a punchers chance as long as they have Westbrook, that D and most importantly Jim Johnson who is one of the best coaches in football. You lose that guy you will never be the same
piratesownninjas
Brady will end up one of the best qbs of all time . It's safe to say he's already there.
fitzkek
It's safe to say he's already there. +1 I think the Eagles, or any other team for that matter, had to blow Moss away with a dollar amount. 1M wasn't going to get it done. That would have been nice though. Edited March 4, 2008 by fitzkek
BillyBalata
Well...last year, the Vikes offered Kevin Curtis more money but he chose to sign with Philly. So, you won that one.

Avernus
on another note...I've been keeping up with gcobb.com and his streaming video show online when he appears...he's had some insight on the situation as did Eskin... G Cobb said that Reid was on the phone with Moss for quite some time...."all morning" as was said... Mark Eckel reported this morning on WIP that the Cardinals want Lito and 2 1st round picks for Fitz....but Reid only offered Lito and a 2nd... I'd move Lito with a 1st and next year's 3rd...but that's it....it's not like we have a strong history with our 1st and 2nd round picks anyways...
