Let the JJones venom spew forth.

Lots of haters out there.

i was one that spoke out against JJ but it was much more about his production vs that of Barber then anything else....and who knows

what a scenery change will do for him(if he can stay healthy too)

Well the TJ Duckett owners were able to enjoy at least one week of Free Agency.

i doubt anyone thought Duckett was going to get too many carries. looks like it's going to be RBBC with JJ, Duckett and Momo. I don't think any of them have much value, really.

Sounds like a perfect (well, in NFL terms, not fantasy) RBBC situation. Jones will be the starter and will most likely get the most carries (not that that's saying much), with Duckett being the "power back" and Morris being the primary backup/CoP guy.

Perfect. So now the Vikings can follow through on the rumored trade of Chester Taylor and other players/picks for Julius Peppers and then sign Alexander to play backup to AD. Alexander would like to run behind Hutchinson again right? :D

 Link? Carolina would be nuts to give up Peppers for Taylor, regardless of what other players/picks they get... unless it's something outrageous, which I doubt.

With the Seahawks being so close to the cap, I don't think they would bring in one of the top free agent RB's if they planned on using him in a true RBBC. I think they are hoping Jones is the savior to their running game. I would bet Duckett gets first crack at the goal-line carries but who knows if the guy can even play? Mo or Weaver will probably be in on 3rd and long. Jones, if he can stay healthy, should get the chance to prove if he can be the workhorse.

I like it. I targeted him as a possibility back before the season started. He definitely is a contrast to Shaun. While Shaun's critics say he is too patient, those of Jones would say he lacks any patience whatsoever. At least he hits the hole hard. I would have preferred one of the rookies, but when the Seahawks lost out on all the good free-agent TE's, I think it forced their hand to plan on taking one in the first round. As a result, they had to find a different way to solve their RB problem. If they can get Davis from USC, I think this offense can finally get the balance back that made them so successful and unpredictable in years past.

This is still an upgrade over SA who makes sure he is on the ground a good 5 yards before that can happen.

Wow. From perrenial first round stud to the scrap heap in less than 2 years. Move over Priest Holmes, you've got company.

Settling for JJ vs going for one of the rooks is a mistake, just like trying to rely on JJ has proven year after year. GB Parcells not drafting S Jackson  But in this day and age who knows - maybe being an "OK" back (with some help from TJ) might be enough. Definitely an upgrade over "I refuse to admit it's time to retire" Alexander though (although same could be said of most RBs).

So in other words, a RBBC.

Doing something by committee would mean that all the people in the committee are working together in the same tasks. This is precisely what will not happen here. Jones will get 80+ percent of the carries. To me, that would be a group led by one particular leader, not a committee.

They can still take a 2nd/3rd tier rookie RB.

JJones was available for them, the big 3 rookie RBs most likely will be gone by their pick (#25).

Seattle still has Super Bowl visions. The rookie might not have been in their best interests.

There is no way in hell that jones gets 80+ percent of the carries. He's just not that good, and he's done nothing to indicate that he can carry that kind of a workload.

This is in line with my thinking. Stewart wouldn't have been there, and I've heard he was the back they targeted. This move at least should buy them another year. If Jones doesn't work out as planned they can always go RB in the first round next year. I doubt Jones' contract is so big that they are handcuffed to him. It's worth a shot anyways.

Yup. With the additon of OG Wahle, and the modest additions of TE Putzier, Duckett, and Jones; the only immediate glaring need is kicker. Ruskell has tended to draft the best player available regardless of position. I still think a TE and RB is likely drafted, but now I wouldn't be surprised to see a another O-lineman and/or a DT get picked in the first 2 rounds.
