keggerz
BACON STUFFED BURGER Well I said this was an idea I had in the "how do you like your burger" thread. I just have to say it was so damn good that I thought it deserved its own thread. 81%/19% Ground Chuck Salt & Pepper is all I added to the meat 2 slices of bacon/burger(I used Oscar Meyer Ready to Eat Bacon) I made four 1/4lb. patties. Took 2 slices of Bacon(CRISPY) and broke them in half and laid them side by side on the burger...patties were just big enough that the bacon didnt overhang the burger.... Then I took the other patty and put it on top of the patty with the bacon... Patted both together to make sure it was "sealed" around the edges. And on to the grill(actually a foreman because it was raining outside) Lets just say it was F'n incredible...I think part of the secret was to cook the bacon til it was really crispy(i took the short cut with the Oscar Meyer Ready to eat stuff)...and then while the burger is cooking the juice from the meat "softens" up the bacon and I think the heat actually helps to render some of the bacon fat into the burger which allows the bacon flavor to permeate thru the entire burger :yum: I cant wait to get some good ass applewood bacon for the next try. I can't wait to hear how this comes out if and when someone else here trys it out. Oh and yeah it was a big F'n 1/2 lb burger oh and as far as condiments go all i added was a small dolop of mustard and a bit of ketchup oh and I forgot a slice of american cheese too EDIT: I did NOT puncture or cut open the burger for cooking...just cooked it like a normal burger. AtomicCEO
I think that by adding bacon to other foods... you actually take away from the awesomeness that is bacon. Atomic's Bacon Burger: Take a pound of bacon and fry it up crispy. (crispily?) Fashion a mock bun from several pieces of bacon. Add a layer of bacon on top of the bacon bun. Put two strips of bacon on top of that. Fashion another bacon bun for the top. Add bacon to taste.

broncosn05
Mixing some cheddar isn't too bad either as I got some pre-made from King Soopers but I'm not sure how much really is left in there after cooking though it still tastes incredible. Bier Meister
did a variation of this tonight... mix 2# buger, worchestershire sauce, s&p. divide into four, then by 2. basically you are making 8 little burgers. mixture: diced 6 slices of bacon. crisp and set aside. save 1-2 tbs of bacon fat in the pan. saute 8 oz of sliced mushrooms (used crimini) and 1 minced shallot using bacon fat in pan. set aside. cool with bacon. mix with about 4 oz of thinly sliced swiss. fill burgers with 2 tbs of mixute. place another little paddy on top and pinch together. so you'll get 4 of those.
