Atlanta homers....

Any word on what the Falcons are trying to do with him? Being a Rams fan, I would GLADLY give you all our 2nd rounder(number 33) for him. Just wondering what's the status on this.

thanks.

FWIW, he's been linked (by rumor) to Oakland, Washington, and KC. Don't ask me for all the links... I think the Oakland/Washington rumor was reported by ESPN (Michael Smith maybe?) and KC (Schefter). The Giants rumors have waned it seems.

Here's why Atlanta will probably hang on to him for quite a while this offseason...

1) Teams know that the coaches, Dimitroff and Blank have had it with him,

2) Teams know that Hall has no interest in playing for the Falcons ever again,

3) Teams are well aware of Hall's on-field and off-field issues, AND

4) Hall is asking for a lot of money given those issues (like equal to or more than Asante Samuel type money).

There's some rumors that the new HC, Smith, would like to have him be a part of the team. That Smith's D requires standout CB play etc. To me that just comes off as a contrived and weak attempt to bolster his trade value.

All of this means Atlanta will not be getting what they believe is fair value while other teams have no incentive in offering what Atlanta is looking for (probably a low 1st rounder or 2nd rounder that includes more picks based on Hall's performance) AND those teams aren't willing to give into Hall's contract demands. I would say that a Hall trade depends on the draft THEN how the teams' CB positions look during and after mini-camp, TC, and preseason. Teams that are not willing to give a first day pick might be more willing if they miss out on their targeted prospects in the draft or the players they have in camp just aren't cutting it due to performance or injuries.

Dimitroff was on local sports talk radio, 680 the fan, and when asked about Hall said that they have no intentions of trading him this season and that they have spoken with nobody regarding his availability and all talk is just rumors.

Exactly what a decent GM should try to do in order to increase a player's trade value. But please ... even if you don't believe Hall, all the noise over the last 3-4 weeks...

Ok here's some linkage--:D :D :brew: :D :D... this last link actually suggests that no contract talk has even been allowed however this only proves that SOME trade talks have been taking place.

Considering the sum of the Giants, Redskins, Oakland, and KC rumors... where there's smoke there's fire.

Hey, maybe Deangelo plays for the Falcons this year. It's just hard to imagine considering he's already expressed his disdain for the organization. Especially since Atlanta is trying to start fresh.
