They don't have anything updated at that site let alone news of some undrafted rookie. I then tried to access the forums thinking something was there but you need to be a member in order to access the forums.

I'm fairly certain when it was reported that surgery would take 4-6 months, they were referring to modern sports medicine. Smart teams won't rush him.

NFL Draft: Oregon RB Jonathan Stewart Has Surgery, but Will His Stock Fall?

Oregon running back Jonathan Stewart had surgery Wednesday on a foot injury he suffered during the 2007 college football season. Ordinarily, needing surgery six weeks before the NFL draft would be a sign that a player's stock was about to tumble.

But Stewart is in an unusual position because he put on an impressive Scouting Combine performance despite the injury. That has some people around the NFL saying there's nothing to worry about.

"We all know who Jonathan Stewart is and what he's capable of doing," said one scout for an NFC team that is in the market for a running back. "We've watched enough video to understand what kind of player he is.

"Does this change that? No. We've known about this situation."

Stewart is expected to need about four months to heal, meaning he'd only be an observer during minicamps but would be ready to go by training camp.
