"They told me this morning that they were going to release me," Jones said. "Yeah, I was surprised. I was in two weeks ago and saw the staff and (president Matt) Millen and everything was OK. Two weeks later, they told me I was getting released."

budlitebrad
Mendenhall may not be there at 15 and Stewart's availability for Week 1 is a question mark right now. They could wait and grab a Charles/CJ/Forte/Rice or gamble on Alexander I guess.

But hey, you never know with that organization.

Doc Holliday
I personally do not mind this at all. the only thing he is good at is getting hurt. Now letting Rogers go...that was a mistake.
Whiskey Pimp
They released DE Kalimba Edwards and RB Kevin Jones and it's already on the front page of their own website. Here

Doc Holliday
No way..... You guys need another WR.... We do not need another WR or a old Shawn Alexander. amazing as we need almost everything .but those are 2 things we do not need. It does seem like we could of traded Kevin Jones for at least a low pick or something though.
Egret
... and the Lions re-signed Tatum Bell. I don't even know what to say anymore. Does this mean the Lions are taking a RB in the draft?

yo mama
I heard he was pretty close to signing with the Texans. You'd think they'd have learned after Ahman Green last year.
yo mama
... and the Lions re-signed Tatum Bell. I don't even know what to say anymore. Does this mean the Lions are taking a RB in the draft? I'm no fan of Tatum Bell, and I certainly don't think he's an every-down RB. But he's got a career average of 4.8 yards per carry 5.9 yards per reception. I honestly don't know what caused him to fall out of favor with the Lions last year, but Bell seems like he's got at least some value as a situational player. The biggest knock I have against the guy is that he was born in Dallas. Edited March 13, 2008 by yo mama
CaP'N GRuNGe
I guess Kevin Jones could take Mewelde Moore's spot as 3rd string RB with the Vikings...

LooGie
I would not mind one bit seeing Kevin in a Panthers uniform, and the entire brass organization will be dead to me if they dont at least slightly pursue him.

I hope the Rogers you are referring to is not a WR.
