Puddy
Well I was in the fine state of Missouri for the first time ever on Wednesday and Thursday. Went with a small group from work to visit some of our retailers. Started in St. Louis Wednesday morning and ended in Columbia that night. Went into KC yesterday morning and demanded that we eat at either Arthur Bryant's or Gates. Ended up at Bryant's place. What a cool ass place. Went with the beef brisket and fries. We split a rack of ribs. All very good (well except the fries). That place has a ton of character and history. The pit is old as dirt and if you look inside there is a ton of meat in there at once One of our customers is a very cool place called Crane's Country Store off of I-70. That place also has a ton of character and history. They sell $1 sandwiches (1 meat, 1 cheese, 1 dollar). Great stop if you are trekking across the state. Puddy
How was your stay in lovely St. Louis? It was a whirlwind tour. Arrived at the STL airport at 7:30 am, immediately jumped into a van with 4 coworkers and started driving. Drove to 4 accounts the first day, overnight stay in Columbia and then back on the road until hitting the airport in KC for a 5:00 flight home. There's a store in St. Charles called Dungarees that carries every sku we make if you are ever looking.

The fries are there only for a quick break from the meat.

I;m kind of a snob so I only go out to St. Charles if absolutely necessary.

Big John
Was Missouri in the confederacy? MO was a border state and was internally split with factions to both the North and South Missouri during the Civil War
fingfootball
Guess I should have said that half of Missourians are not Yankees.
twiley
Missourians are not Yankees - You are thinking of the Jay Hawkers The whole state minus St. Louis is not Yankee. St. Louis is clearly the only civilized city in MIssouri.

twiley
South Kingshighway is (for the most part) fine. Yeah, just don't go any further than the Chase Park Plaza then it starts getting pretty bad.

Seattle LawDawg
I am going to work for a company located on Kings Highway. I've been to the Arthur Bryants by the Cabelas in KC. Not bad. I had heard that it was amazing and I don't think it was quite that good, but certainly good enough to let them cook for me again.
fingfootball
I've been the the one at the casino and the one in the city and I personally don't think they compare. Must be because the one in the city is seasoned properly.

fingfootball
When I lived in the city I used to go to Gates down at 103 and State Line. I loved it when the cashier would scare new customers with "HI MAY I HELP YOU". I got Gates and Smokestack confused for a minute. But Smokestack that is or was in Martin City was good too.
