fingfootball
I knew that Elam was with Denver for a long time. But I didnt think about him being there 15 years. http://www.nfl.com/freeagency/story?id=090...mp;confirm=true
AtomicCEO
Elam was a fixture, and as a fan, I thought he was great. But all things must pass. Life goes on. The crazy world keeps on spinning. Good luck in your travels, Jason.

Good luck in your travels, Jason. +1 Good move for DEN. They don't need a cap hit of $2.2M for an aging K who is increasingly ineffective. Elam was great at his position for almsot a decade and a half - one of the best ever. But now it's time to move on. Anyone have the number of any idiot drunk kickers? Bronco Billy
Wow. You all ought to hear & read the sports media reaction here in Denver. You'd think DEN had just cut Elway in his prime. Apparently sports reporters & writers aren't required to watch games in order to form an opinion on their subject. Yet another piece of evidence to the body of work that sports reporters in DEN don't have the faintest clue about sports...

A DEN kicker should always be a good scorer in FF. The high altitude helps with their kicking distance, and Shanahan is one of the most conservative coaches in the league in the red zone. I was trying to let him leave town on a high note, but you had to come right out and say it.
Bill Swerski
Too bad that Elam's miss of that 40-yarder in KC back in 2000 screwed me out of a fantasy championship and left a bad taste in my mouth. Dude was one of the better kickers of his era.

Maybe it's just because he's one of the last pieces left from the glory days... I know that Denver media types have all but been crowned the worst at what they do, but does any area have truly great writers? Dallas has one of the worst, his name is Randy Galloway. Absolute jackass he is.
