Randall
Trying to put speculation in a central place. The Lions are "expected" to draft Florida DE Derrick Harvey if he's there with the No. 15 pick, according to MLive.com. There's a pretty good chance Harvey won't be there, however. He could go as high as No. 7 to the Patriots. True pass rushers like Harvey probably won't be around long after the Giants' Super Bowl performance. Source: MLive.com --- Bengals beat reporter Chuck Ludwig says he's "absolutely, positively convinced" that the team will use its first-round pick on an offensive tackle. Tackles that may worthy of the No. 9 overall pick include Ryan Clady (Boise St.), Chris Williams (Vanderbilt), Gosder Cherilus (B.C.), and Jeff Otah (Pitt). Jake Long will be long gone. The Bengals are said to be worried about Levi Jones' knees. Source: Dayton Daily News
Savage Beatings
I've seen a lot of mocks with Harvey going to the Vikings at 17, but I don't think he will still be there. I think the Vikings will go for someone like Otah if he's available. The off-field problems with Bryant McKinnie at LT are going to come to a head at the beginning of the season (I wouldn't be surprised if he is suspended for the first 4 games)... and frankly he is a hit-or-miss kind of player anyway (incredibly large, but also terribly slow). I'd love to see them draft his replacement with that #17 overall pick.
Randall
Amidst much media speculation, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones insists he will not trade up for the opportunity to draft RB Darren McFadden with a top five pick. "I have no intent at all of moving into the top five," Jones said. He also stressed that this was more about paying the going rate for a top five draft pick as opposed to a comment on McFadden's talent. He can likely stay where he is and draft Jonathan Stewart or Felix Jones. Source: Ft. Worth Star-Telegram
1st&punt
Carolina Panthers officials held a private workout with Illinois RB Rashard Mendenhall yesterday. The Panthers hold the 13th pick, and Mendenhall has been projected to go somewhere between 7 and 15. The team has consistently sent out signals that it is not completely sold on DeAngelo Williams as an every down back, and Mendenhall could be an option as the big back to pair with Williams
PSULions
Yes, I had posted that yesterday. Panthers have a private workout with Mendenhall Hence, me grabbing him at #13 with the Huddle Mock we are running right now. Make in January, Jerry met with Fox and Hurney and they specifically talked about how they want to run the ball and have a power running attack. Mendenhall provides them with the best RB outside of McFadden in this draft and is a bargain at #13 IMO.
MTSuper7
I saw a couple of mocks that projected that the Panthers will use the 1st pick for an OT and nab Felix Jones (Ark) with their second rounder...

There are some that have Dallas picking Jones with one of their firsts too. That seems pretty likely.
