Haven't posted in a while so salutations to the Food and Beverage bretheren. Anyways, I am pretty sure everyone here has at least tried this so tell me some of your tried and true ways to cook the "beer can" chicken.

Some of the different things I have tried are putting a bunch of various herbs, garlic, onions, and whatnot inside the can. The liquids I have really liked are Guinness, rootbeer, orange soda, dr. pepper, jerk marinade.

I always, always rub the bird down with some crisco or olive oil and then coat with a rub that jives with whatever I put in the can.

Peace,

Pete

BTW, anyone else miss football yet?

Orange soda? I'll have to give that one a try.

Yep, for a bit of the Asian flare. Kinda stumbled upon this one after a few cold kings(buds). Used some ginger and soy and extra soda as a baste. Turned out pretty good. Vess Whistle sodee to be exact.

No need to explain the meaning of cold kings. I'm well versed in the AB lingo.
