budlitebrad
Tressel was asked if there was, truly, a gentlemen’s agreement between Big Ten coaches not to poach one another’s recruits. (On signing day, new Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez was criticized by Purdue’s Joe Tiller for signing one of the Boilers’ previous verbals away.) Tressel’s response: “I guess only between gentlemen.” 231 days and counting
sacosud
My boss was at that function and I guess the whole place busted out in laughter and Tress did not even smile which I guess is what made it so funny. The media ate it up in Columbus. I think not so much in Ann Arbor, however Michigan landed a jab today by getting a OSU recruit. Let it begin!!!!! Dick Rod another reason to hate that team up north. chiefjay
Tress is such a gentleman himself, he would never cheat or steal recruits, nothing of the like. I guess those buckeys fans will laugh at anything. Edited April 6, 2008 by chiefjay
budlitebrad
I know all about Tressel's history with recruiting, Youngstown, etc., but I just enjoy seeing him waste no time throwing the first jab of the season and welcoming RR to the rivalry. Coffeeman
New head coach blood making rivalries in the Big10 (OSU v. UM) and Pac10 (USC v. UCLA) more interesting this year. LA TImes is covering UCLA spring practice in intimate detail for the first time in years. fun stuff!
