Guest Chappy
http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/NFLDr.../wwhi040908.htm Al Davis Loves McFadden Raiders owner Al Davis is “intoxicated” with RB Darren McFadden, who visited the Raiders on Monday and spent considerable time with Oakland’s coaching staff. DE Vernon Gholston is also reportably in Davis' sites, but despite Oakland's need for D-line help, it'll be hard for him to pass on McFadden's natural talents. | April 09, 2008 9:07 PM ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/footbal...0,7093217.story Dolphins Talking to Gholston's Agent Official contract negotiations with Michigan offensive tackle Jake Long, and Ohio State defensive end Vernon Gholston were started this week, according to a source. Coincidentally, Long and Gholston are represented by the same agency, CAA, but have different agents. Yesterday we heard that contract talks started with Long and today we hear that Gholston is also being considered. Sounds like the Dolphins are getting serious as we come down the stretch. From a fantasy standpoint, Gholston could make a good IDP player if he is in the right scheme. | April 10, 2008 3:26 PM ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic.../804100423/1126 Johnson Still Feels Back Pain Lions WR Calvin Johnson says he is still feeling the low-back injury that he suffered last year. Johnson says it doesn't hurt, but he can still feel it. It's something that may creep up on him again this year if he doesn't fully heal during training camp. We doubt, that it will affect his WR2 status going forward. But it's something owners will have to keep an eye on. | April 10, 2008 12:41 PM ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.star-telegram.com/332/story/573479.html Pacman Deal Dying Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says talks between the Cowboys and Titans regarding DB Pacman Jones are dying. "I think the longer that it goes, the less likely [it will be done]," Jones said. There may be a lull in talks for awhile, but they are likely to pick up again as the draft gets closer. We will keep owners updated. | April 10, 2008 4:41 PM ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?NEWS_ID=5979 Edwards Adds Muscle Bills QB Trent Edwards has added ten pounds of muscle this offseason. The added muscle could help Edwards' long ball and keep him healthy for the full 2008 season. Edwards isn't worthy of a QB2 ranking yet, but he could be a decent waiver-wire pickup if the added muscle helps. | April 10, 2008 4:23 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://blog.cleveland.com/sports/2008/04/c...eiver_jure.html Jurevicius Developed Staph Infection It's being reported that Browns WR Joe Jurevicius developed a staph infection in January. The infection occured after Jurevicius underwent arthroscopic knee surgery. It's something that isn't expected to affect him or the team this season. Double J doesn't have much fantasy value left. | April 10, 2008 5:04 PM ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.star-telegram.com/332/story/573479.html Cowboys Don't Want Henry According to owner Jerry Jones, the Cowboys are "unlikely" to pursue free agent WR Chris Henry. It seems that the NFL's misunderstood players feel that Dallas gives them the best chance to play again. Perhaps they are trying to follow in the footsteps of WR Terrell Owens. Henry will likely do and say the right things over the next few months, but the chances of him playing this season are very low. | April 10, 2008 12:34 PM ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...-bear10.article Bears/Harris Talks Broken Off It's being reported that negotiations between the Bears and DT Tommie Harris about a long-term contract have broken off. Harris, who is taking part in the team's offseason program, is still the Bears' priority. It's being rumored that the team has offered Harris more than the seven years, $50.5 million Raiders DT Tommy Kelly got. Harris makes a decent DL3 this year. He has had 13 sacks in just 24 games started in the last two years. | April 10, 2008 9:39 AM ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.miamiherald.com/616/story/488129.html Fins Looking Past #1 After meeting with Chris Long, Jake Long and Matt Ryan, the Dolphins are now focusing on prospects beyond the top pick. The Dolphins have invited these players for a workout: Auburn LB Quentin Groves, UNLV LB Beau Bell, Nebraska OT Carl Nicks, Virginia Tech OT Duane Brown, California Safety Thomas DeCoud, UTEP Safety/CB Quintin Demps, BYU LB Kelly Poppinga, Michigan State WR Devin Thomas, Virginia Tech DT Kory Robertson, and Purdue TE Dustin Keller. The Fins need could use all of these guys, but look for them to make a run at some of the linebackers. | April 09, 2008 8:08 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.colts.com/sub.cfm?page=article7...a2-b69dc4410286 A Better Bob Sanders? Despite being the reigning defensive player of the year, S Bob Sanders is still improving according to head coach Tony Dungy. "Bob was the defensive player of the year, and he feels like he’ll improve and do some things better,” Dungy said recently in an interview with Colts.com. Dungy talked about the improvements and adjustments Sanders is making in his coverage game. Sanders has averaged over six total tackles per game for each of the past three seasons. If he can build on his career high two interceptions and six passes defensed last year he can firmly entrench himself in the top 10 DBs and approach top five status in IDP leagues in 2008. | April 09, 2008 7:27 PM ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2008/04/j...of_potenti.html Jets Host Draftees The Jets have scheduled nearly a dozen visits by prospective draftees at their Hofstra University headquarters. Among the players on their docket next week are DE/LB Vernon Gholton (Ohio State), LT Ryan Clady (Boise State), RB Rashad Mendenhall (Illinois), CB Leodis McKelvin (Troy State), RB Jonathan Stewart (Oregon), DE Kendall Langford (Hampton) and S Tyrell Johnson (Arkansas). If McFadden is taken before the sixth pick, the Jets might opt for another difference maker at the RB position. | April 10, 2008 6:50 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.chargers.com/news/headlines/hart-energized-by.htm Hart Energized by New Deal Chargers safety Clinton Hart agreed to terms on a new five-year deal that gave him the most security he’s experienced in his six-year NFL career. Hart was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent following the 2008 season. Hart had a good first season as a full-time starter, totaling 85 tackles. He makes a good fantasy player to target when the top DBs are taken. | April 10, 2008 7:19 PM Edited April 11, 2008 by Chappy

Guest Chappy
Too bad there's a character limit or else you could have just posted everything in the subject line. I reached it too. I just figured, I'd try to give a decent headline for the items covered within. It is a bit lengthy however.

I haven't used such a long title yet and only did so, so that huddlers didn't post the same news if they didn't read the content within this thread. I'll go back to the old style- Some Player News... Guest Chappy
Perhaps throw the date of the News on there somewhere? Although the dates and times of all the updates are inside the thread, I guess I could throw the main date which tells when all the news had taking place, in the title. Thanks for the feedback.
