It's not so much the need to chime in because it's the cowboys. I just think that Polk is taking it a bit too far. Jason Witten is at worst the second best TE in the entire league. You can make a case that he's the best in the league, and it's hard to argue with that. To think Bennett will overtake him and be the best TE in the league in two years is a stretch in my opinion.

Very well said and I agree Bennett will definitely be an upgrade when Dallas goes to a 2-TE set however, Witten is the no brain #1 TE there and that's not going to change any time soon.

What if Dallas was going to trade Barber for Roy Williams? DAL would need two RBs then and DET certainly waited to get a RB...

Tough call. I love Barber but Roy would be a younger perfect compliment to T.O. Problem is 2 rooks at RB unless they have someone else in mind. Plus I just love the intensity Barber brings. When he is running people over the crowd gets psyched and I am sure his lineman love blocking for a guy that hits the hole and runs that hard. Im curious to see what Dallas has in mind for the wr needs. I was pretty big on Crayton last year but have since curbed my expectations and Glenn is old. We shall see

1. Round 1, Pick 22 (22) (From Browns) Felix Jones RB 6'0" 200 Arkansas

2. Round 1, Pick 25 (25) (From Seahawks) Mike Jenkins CB 6'0" 200 South Florida

3. Round 2, Pick 30 (61) Martellus Bennett TE 6'6" 259 Texas A&M

4. Round 4, Pick 23 (122) (From Browns) Tashard Choice RB 5'11" 215 Georgia Tech

5. Round 5, Pick 8 (143) (From Bears through Bills and Jaguars) Orlando Scandrick CB 5'10" 192 Boise State

6. Round 6, Pick 1 (167) (From Dolphins) Erik Walden DE 6'2" 238 Middle Tennessee State

Well it's over. And I can say that I am not very happy about this group of picks. I am ok with Jones and Jenkins but after that seems like they just went off the reservation.

Ok Bennett replaces Fasano with more upside fine but then the Tashard Choice pick is odd. Then they go and pick Scandrick which just makes me shake my head. MAJOR character issue guy who is RAW at best. There is NO excuse to pick up a guy with off field issues ESPECIALLY after bringing in Pacman. Enough is enough already. Then Walden? Who in the hell is Walden. Whatever.............maybe a solid special teamer guy to help replace K davis.

Justin King should have been picked up in the third or a WR like Will Franklin.

Looks like they are comfortable with Stanback, Austin, and Hurd coming on to fill in if need be. I can't say that I disagree wtih this as I don't see anyone in the draft that can outplay any of these three this year, so I suppose WR was not a need that could have been filled in this years draft. I give this draft a Blaw grade as I like what day one provided but day 2 left me scratching my head.

I suppose we shall see.

This was an odd draft class from coach Jerry. No wide receiver and no depth for the OL. We are now stocked though with a decent secondary and maybe Roy Wiliams won't have to go into coverage. As the draft moved on all the trades and movements of draft picks leads one to believe that they are positioning themselves for a move still in regards to a Roy Williams (detroit) or the such. Owens, Crayton, and one other good wideout does make this team look pretty scarey on paper. The running game automatically improves I think, however I wish we had a better run blocking lineman in the group. Jenkins improves the secondary.

Based on just players and no other considerations I would probably give this class a B minus .

Free agency moves could make this particular draft look better down the road.

From a cbs blog

We have agreed to contracts with WR Danny Amendola from Texas Tech (who has drawn some comparisons to Wes Welker) and with DE Marcus Dixon from Hampton.

Amendola isn't quite as fast as Welker. Welker runs a 4.60 where as Amendola has been timed in the 4.65 to 4.70 range. Amendola might make a decent slot receiver, but that is about it. The kid has a great work ethic, and a bit of a mean streak for a WR. He is a very willing blocker, and isn't afraid to go over the middle. He has good hands, as well. His only real problem is that he lacks the speed of an NFL WR.

I agree about his straight line speed but the guy has some quicks and in the slot he looks small enough with enough jump to get to a spot fast enough to gain yardage. The kid is VERY shifty and will lay the wood for a small guy. He has great hands and I can see him getting faster and stronger with a year under Joe. He should be interesting to see him develop.

Another RB who could be a possible replacement for something they'd be missing if Marion Barber doesn't hang around? He's a North-South runner who has the power to get yardage between the tackles. A decisive runner who knows how to hit the hole. He has quick feet for a big guy (5-11 223 lbs). He was very capable in short-yardage situations. He had a disappointing senior season, does not have the speed to get outside and doesn't show much elusiveness at the second level. Bottom Line: Lattimore's size and north-south running style could make him a short-yardage specialist for a team with a small, speedy feature back.
