We didn't get Dorsey, but still got an excellent DT in Ellis & didn't have to give up the farm to do it. Word was we'd have given two 1sts & our 2nd to move up for Dorsey so I'm kinda glad we didn't. I don't think the price difference in the two players is all that much. I am a bit disappointed we didn't get Shockey with the 2nd, but I'm very glad the Saints didn't give in to NY's demands. 2nd & Harper is ridiculous IMO. Don't know a lot about the CB, so I'll have to reserve a grade until I read up more on him. As of right now, getting Ellis and doing a good job working trades I'd have to give a B-.

What in the hell are they thinking? "Hey, we have an unproved QB who has issues with accuracy and we have a very shallow, aging D-line so let go ahead and trade our 1st round pick, then we'll draft a WR and a TE. Then for poops and giggles we'll grab another WR. That should scare the rest of the NFC East."

Pathetic.

Denver:

C+

I really don't understand the WR pick when we have more pressing matters. Love the #12 pick of Clady, OT.

And that may be a bit high.

Cason's a solid corner. I just hope we can get some depth on both lines and at RB in the latter rounds. :wacko:

B- for now.

Vikings: C+

Considering what was available at 17 when the Vikings picked and what other teams paid to move up, I think a 1st and both 3rds was a great move to get Allen.

Since we only had one pick on day one, they traded up to get S Tyrell Johnson. That is one position they need depth at. Offensive line is also a concern, but they gave up their 4th round pick that could have been used for that. Would that guy have fallen?? The Vikings preached about not giving up picks, but they did it twice. I guess we will see what happens tomorrow...

Cardinals Draft. A+. We got Cromortie CB and C. Campbell DE. They both have special abilities. Campbell I am the most happy about because he is a freak of nature. Our D line is going to be something to be dealt with for years to come now. Two monsters in Alan Branch and C. Campbell. Will make it easier for our LB's to roam. Plus we can now move A. Rolle to FS and Cromortie at CB with major speed. Something I think we lacked at corner is speed. Now we have it. A+ so far.

Eagles D-

The Eagles could have stayed right where they started and got OT Jeff Otah (19th) and WR DeSean Jackson (49th). Both major needs.

I believe that if Reid had his way the Eagles would have McNabb, Westbrook, and 50 DTs on the team.

You are nuts, Washington got 3 very nice players. And they certainly could use some help at WR. Malcom Kelly is going to be a playmaker at the next level.

I give Dallas a B+.

First they didnt make the move up for McFadden - A+

Second, they stayed with Felix Jones to add amazing speed to the offense, when they had to be tempted to jump on Mendenhall.

Third, I liked they picked the CB, and arent neglecting this position just because they are getting Pac-Man - solid move

But I am not happy Dallas didnt draft a OL, or Manningham over the TE at the end of round 2. Witten is a beast, and Bennet could be a very nice player, but Dallas has depth at the position, and certainly didnt need to make this pick. Manningham unexpectedly fell out of the 2nd round, but hsi slide should have ended at 61.

Dolphins..

as of now... a B..

Without us being able to trade down, I like the Long pick. I like getting him signed early and in camp on time. I like how it allowed us to focus on other players during the draft and how it will take a load off signing the players after the draft.

Sparano is an O-line coach. As such, he knows what to look for in the OL and the DL. Parcels is all about the trenches. If they like Long, I like long. He might not be flashy - but he should be consistant.

I don't watch college ball but what I said about the braintrust of Miami and olineman, the same applies to dlineman so I trust the Merling pick.

I am trilled with Henne and the idea of him moving on with his LT. It makes me smile. Again, I don't watch College ball but I read a little on Henne and he seems a lot like Long - very good and very consistant. The way he was described reminded me of Brady.

I hate our trading of Booker - that really hurts the draft grade for me, but our trade yesterday was a bit of a coup.

I kind of thing that Miami threw Dallas a bone for how cool they have been to Miami.

I'd give the Steelers a B. After watching all the good OL go off the board and thinking Jeff Otah would fall to them, alas, Carolina moves up just ahead of them and snags him. I'm ecstatic though that Mendenhall fell to them. We now have our Bettis replacement. Was thinking they may go for a safety in rd 2(maybe Dejuan Morgan) to help out Polamalu, they went with another skill position in Limas Sweed. I like the pick as Big Ben gets his big WR and he gets a chance to groom behind Hines Ward. But they still have not addressed their OL needs and that very much worries me.

KC = A+

Heading into the day, I expected:

1.05 = OT ... OG .... DT ... DE ... CB ... WR ... QB

1.17 = ...see above...

2.04 = ...see above...

3.03 = ...see above...

3.10 = ...see above...

3.19 = ...see above...

4.06 = ...see above...

5.01 = OL ... DL ... CB ... RB ... QB ... TE

5.05 = ...see above...

6.04 = ...see above...

6.16 = ...see above...

7.03 = ...see above...

7.32 = ...see above...

........................................

So, to have:

1.05 = DT

1.17 = OT/OG

2.05 = CB

Means that the Chiefs are drafting per my schedule.

Next up tomorrow (after trades):

3rd round = OL ... WR .... DL ... one of QB, TE or RB

3rd round = ...see above...

3rd round = ...see above...

4th round = ...see above...

5th round = OL ... DL or OL ... CB ... two of QB or RB or TE

6th round = ...see above...

6th round = ...see above...

7th round = ...see above...

7th round = ...see above...

I must disagree. I think the Redskins did an excellent job. By trading down they still got the best WR and were able to pick up a nice recieving TE. Cooley needs a backup. I would like to have seen a DE made with the last #2 pick but I think the Cards got their targeted player the pick before. I give them a B plus to A minus

Pats:

B right now

Love the move to trade down and pick up a 3rd this year. Also love the Mayo pick. Needed youth at LB, and a smart player, should be able to play as a rookie, not something said very often about a Belichick rookie. Only down side is I would have liked them to trade down again. They probably could have got Mayo later. But a need is a need.

Terrance Wheatley, seams a little small for CB, but is one of the better shut down guys available. Real good speed, and will help on special teams as a returner. More youth, and has the flexability that BB likes.

Niners: B+

With the 7th pick they got an OT with good upside and a year of NFL experience. Better still, they got to pay end of the round money for him.

At the end of the round they got the highest rated player remaining at a position that it never sucks to have plenty DT. Since they run a 3-4, he can either play DE or NG. The only concern is that he's pretty much got one year of looking good. Of course, nobody looked good during the Bunting years at UNC.

2nd round OG pick up. With as quickly as they went through QBs, a little help there doesn't suck and this guy seems to be quite an athlete. I might have preferred a solid WR but that's only good if the QBs not on his back.

Overall, I can't complain.

Titans: D-

For the 2nd straight year, they failed to draft a weapon for Vince Young. Now we get to see him throw passes to Justin Gage and Roydell Williams again next season. I just don't understand how you can draft a franchise QB, then not give him ANY weapons to work with on offense. That sounds like a great idea! It's frustrating because they could have picked any receiver they wanted in round 1. Besides all that, didn't Tennessee just draft a speedy RB in round 2 last year? They're really already giving up on him?

The only reason that this is not an F is because Jason Jones is actually a fine pick who will provide depth along the defensive line, something that is sorely needed.

Going to give the Falcons a a B- at best, it's easy to say that we hit on three key needs but I say that we could have done much better. Here's why:

1) I don't think Matt Ryan is THAT much better than the QBs that went in the second round. You could have traded with New Orleans (easier said than done) and nabbed a 1 and 2 and next year's 1 and let them get Dorsey. After that, you could pull a Ravens and trade back up after you traded down to get your man. Once again, easier said than done I know. But I really have difficulty believing that Atlanta's best course of action was to simply take Ryan; especially with teams drooling over Dorsey at that spot.

2) Dorsey would be a game changing DT. I really don't think it would have been a bad move on Atlanta's part to take him and go with another QB.

3) Of all the OTs to trade up for, I don't see how Sam Baker is the man. I think that Carl Nicks and Anthony Collins are better tackles for Atlanta and could have been had in the second round.

4) I like the pick of Curtis Lofton. We need another Mike and I think he'll do well.

5) I would have liked to see a corner get taken in the second (if we hung onto our other two seconds). I'm not sold on Von Hutchins, Chris Houston and David Irons. I know the CB class is deep and guys like Antwaan Molden are still available but I would have liked to see a Tracy Porter type or even Tyrone Wheatley.
