I had Erin Henderson rated pretty high. Surprised he wasn't drafted at all.

Pat Kirwin on Sirius NFL Radio said he was his top-rated player that wasn't drafted. I forget exactly where he had him, but no later than the 5th, and I think into the 4th rd.

Still can't belive that the Vikings did not get any OL help. One UFA tackle???

They drafted a Center (John Sullivan out of Notre Dame). That at least should free up Cook to concentrate on becoming a Tackle.

Dang... I've been looking at the list of UDFA signings for the Vikings so far, and comparing those names to some pre-draft rankings. Based upon that, I think you have to give the Vikes a bump up in their overall draft grade. Or at the very least they are definitly getting an A+ Grade on their post-draft signings. It's almost as if they had a couple of extra regular picks. Nice work!

Packers sign a long snapper.

LS Jansen agrees to terms

By Greg A. Bedard

Sunday, Apr 27 2008, 09:04 PM

Green Bay - Undrafted free agent J.J. Jansen of Notre Dame agreed to a free-agent contract with the Packers, according to his agent Paul Sheehy.

"J.J. got a lot of interest from other teams but the Packers were our No. 1 team right out of the gate," Sheehy said. "A week hasn't gone by where we weren't talking with somebody from the Packers."

After the retirement of veteran Rob Davis, free-agent Thomas Gafford is the only long snapper on the Packers' roster.

Jansen, 6-foot-3 and 254 pounds, ran 40-yard times of 4.77 and 4.82 seconds at his pro day. He had a 32 1/2-inch vertical jump, a 9-foot-2 broad jump and completed 15 repetitions on the 225-pound bench press. He is 22-years old.

Took over at long snapper for the Irish midway through the 2005 season and has never had a botched snap on any of his 300-odd attempts between punts and field goals.

Vikings signings + summary

Husain Abdullah, S, Washington State – A three-year starter for the Cougars who has a lot of special teams experience. His brother Hamza plays for the Denver Broncos.

Martail Burnett, DE, Utah – A converted DE who came to Utah as a safety. He has great athleticism and has posted 40-inch vertical jumps. Viewed a project and potential practice squad player.

Leger Douzable, DT, Central Florida – A two-year starter who recorded 14.5 sacks and 24.5 tackles for a loss in that span.

Marcus Griffin, S, Texas – Twin brother of Michael Griffin, the 19th overall pick in the 2007 draft by Tennessee. A two-year starter who had five interceptions as a senior.

Steven Hauschka, K, North Carolina State – Accurate kicker who made all eight of his field goal attempts from beyond 40 yards. He has good leg strength and will challenge Ryan Longwell in training camp.

Erin Henderson, LB, Maryland – Younger brother of Vikings LB E.J. Henderson. A two-year starter who had 115 tackles last year.

Nate Jones, WR, Texas – Played 37 career games and was an academic All-Big 12 selection and a member of the Longhorns track team.

Travis Key, CB, Michigan State – Hybrid defensive back with experience at both corner and safety. Expected to compete for a roster spot because of special teams ability.

J. Leman, LB, Illinois – Had 284 tackles the last two seasons, but went undrafted primarily because he has had two arthroscopic surgeries on his left ankle – the most recent in February that prevented him from working out for teams prior to the draft.

Tim Mattran, C, Stanford – A Chaska native who was a walk-on and was a sixth-year senior for the Cardinal. Started 18 games in his college career.

Drew Radovich, T, USC – Two-year starter who played left guard as a junior and right tackle as a senior. Rated by Mel Kiper Jr. as the fifth-best guard prospect in the draft.

Darius Reynaud, WR, West Virginia – Fourth-year junior who started 36 games in his college career. He has explosive speed and was used on reverses as well as kickoff returns.

Brandon Sumrall, CB, Southern Mississippi – Started all 38 games he played the last two seasons. Undersized player who has special teams experience.

Marcus Walker, CB, Oklahoma – College teammate of Adrian Peterson. Started the final 25 games of his college career and has solid cover skills.

Kyle Wright, QB, Miami – Three-year starter who has good arm strength. Is smart and articulate and could be a strong practice squad candidate.

Albert Young, RB, Iowa – A three-year starter. He led the Big

My brother went to college with him, he is a great guy in addition to being the #1 rusher in NCAA history. His injury at the end of this last season and his size were what probably knocked him out of the draft and into the free agent realm. The best comparison I can make for him is to Sproles, but that isn't doing him enough justice.

Danny Amendola WR Texas Tech. - Could make a decent slot receiver, but not as much like Welker as the Cowboys would like. Will probably make the team.

Drew Atchison TE William & Mary - Probably won't make the team, he is raw, too light to be a good blocking TE, and doesn't have the speed to be a real receiving threat.

Mark Bradford WR Stanford - At 6'-1" and 211#s Bradford is interesting. His 40 times are all over the board. He ran a 4.69 at the combine, but ran a 4.49 at his pro day. He has one of the top verticals and bench tests at the combine. He was injured most of 2006. This guy could be a real hidden gem. I'm almost positive he will make the team.

Andrew Bretcher OT Harvard - 6'-5" 290#. Don't know anything about this cat.

Julius Crosslin FB Okla. State - 6'-0" 230# - Definitely not a receiving threat, as he didn't catch a single ball last year. I doubt he makes the team.

Dowayne Davis SS Syracuse - 5'-11" 192# runs a 4.4. Youtube of Dowayne Davis. Has a decent shot at making the team.

Marcus Dixon DE Hampton - 6'-4" 292# has played both DE and DT, which makes him a pretty good fit for a 3-4 DE. Was convicted of statutory rape, which probably the reason he was not drafted. He probably would have been a 3rd or 4th rounder if he was squeeky clean., Will probably make the team.

Brandon Hale OT Sam Houston State - 6'-3" 324#. He might make a decent guard, but not NFL OT material. Probably won't make the team.

Keon Lattimore RB Maryland - 5'10" 228# - this guy is a warm body for camp. I doubt he make the team unless he converts to FB.

Jay Ottovegio P/K Stanford - Seriously doubt he makes the team.

Daniel Polk WR Midwestern State - 6"-0" 220# - Converted QB that runs a 4.58 40. He could make the team as an emergency QB/WR, but probably will only make it as far as the taxi squad.

Darrell Robertson DE Georgia Tech - 6'3" 255# - projects more as a strong side LB in the 3-4. Is injury prone. Probably won't make the team.

I can see Bradford, Amendola, Davis and Dixon all making the team. I'm probably the most excited about Bradford. He ran a horrible 40 at the combine, but improved it tremendously at his pro day. Only problem with the WR's is none of them are burners which is what Dallas really needs.

I'm hoping Darius Reynaud makes it. Of course, as a WR it shouldn't be hard in Minny.
