Guest Chappy
Seahawks Going With Committee The Seahawks plan on using a running back by committee approach in 2008. HC Mike Holmgren said he does not anticipate giving one back 25 carries in any given week this year, so that hurts the value of all the backs. If we had to guess, we would take a flier on RB Julius Jones as he could see the most action out of all the running backs on the roster this year. | April 30, 2008 12:26 PM ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Branch's Recovery "Going Well" Seahawks WR Deion Branch's recovery from a torn ACL is "going well." HC Mike Holmgren is satisfied with Branch's rehab, but he said he doesn't expect him to be ready for Week 1. There is a strong chance that he could end up on the PUP list and miss the first six weeks of the season. | April 30, 2008 12:22 PM ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ http://cowboysblog.dallasnews.com/archives...y-williams.html Glenn Has 50/50 Chance To Start According to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, WR Terry Glenn has a "50-50" chance to start this year. Glenn, who dealt with a knee injury in 2007, was limited to one appearance. It still seems a longshot that Glenn plays a down. But since the team didn't address the receiver position in the draft, maybe Glenn's chances are better than originally thought. We wouldn't worry about him for now. | April 30, 2008 8:00 AM ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/10805234 Chiefs' V.P. Discusses Draft Bill Kuharich, vice president of player personnel for the Kansas City Chiefs, discussed his team's draft. "We didn't send in the card right away because if somebody got ridiculous we could move back. But we wouldn't go beyond 10. So we weren't fielding calls from anybody below New Orleans, and New Orleans called to offer us their first and seventh this year and their first in '09. We got calls from New England, too, though I didn't know who they wanted. In our opinion, it was either DE Vernon Gholston or DT Glenn Dorsey, but it might've been somebody else. Anyway, it never got to the stage of 'What are you willing to pay?' We were focused on New Orleans, and when they came up short we just picked him." Kuharich goes on to discuss all his picks in this article. I wonder if the Saints and Pats (and Cardinals and Eagles regarding OT Branden Albert) appreciate his candidness? | April 29, 2008 10:07 PM ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/sport...kins/index.html Thomas And Kelly To Compete Both Redskins receiver picks Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly are expected to compete for the spot across from WR Santana Moss. What became a problem for the team before the draft is now a bit of a luxury. Both players have great talent and both could compete for snaps at split end and the slot. Expect the team to use both players at all the positions in minicamps to see which has the best chance to start. | April 29, 2008 7:10 PM
Seahawks21
Malcolm Kelly could very well end up being one of the steals of this draft. He has the best ball skills of all the receivers in this draft. The only question is if he can get separation. On film, he sure doesn't look like he is as slow as his 40 time suggests.
