1. Minnesota Vikings- Brian Brohm QB Louisville- Here’s a math question for you. No QB+No WR=No Chance. When you potentially rely on Drew Henson to be your starting QB you have an obvious need come draft time. Brohm is a proven college signal caller with the leadership and accuracy needed to run Chilly’s(that’s for the guys at the Viking Age) WCO.

2. Tennessee Titans-Jake Long OT Michigan- Don’t blame this on the Madden Curse. Blame it on the incredibly untalented roster they’ve surrounded Vince Young with. They lost their top WR, top RB, and only playmaker in the defensive secondary. Sorry Vince but there’s not going to be an encore of last season. Jake Long has the potential to be a franchise LT and should help get this offense going.

3. Dallas Cowboys(from Cleveland)-Darren McFadden RB Arkansas-I’m fairly certain when Jerry Jones traded last years 1st rounder away to the Browns it was hoping that they could move into the top 5 in 2008 so he could draft fellow Razorback Darren McFadden. The Cowboys have lacked a true impact RB since circa mid 90s Emmit Smith and McFadden is a player that should get fans in Dallas optimistic for a Super Bowl.

4. New York Giants- Sam Baker OT Southern California- How do you like that Dad! The Giants issues stem from a complete lack of an offensive line(that and Eli Manning) so it only makes sense that they would address the problem early. Sam Baker is an incredibly talented OT who has the ability to be a starter at LT for years.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Glenn Dorsey DT LSU- Way back when the Bucs had one of the most dominant defenses in football it could all be traced back to one thing. Warren Sapp. Tampa has lacked a dominant DT ever since and trading away Booger McFarland didn’t help. Dorsey is a player that actually reminds me of a young Warren Sapp and should insantly boost the Bucs youth movement on D.

6. Oakland Raiders- DeSean Jackson WR California-If Ted Ginn Jr can go in the top 10 then why can’t DeSean Jackson who is much more polished as a WR? That’s what the Raiders are thinking when they take the local product to solve their offensive woes. Jamarcus Russell now has a player fast enough to actually chase down those mortars he’ll be launching all over the field. It doesn’t hurt that he’s also the best return man to come out since Devin Hester.

7. Washington Redskins- Calais Campbell DE Miami- The Redskins have had issues with the pass rush for years and they finally get the opportunity to fix it when they draft Campbell out of Miami. Campbell has the size and speed that will remind people of Julius Peppers.

8. Miami Dolphins- Barry Richardson OT Clemson- The Dolphins obviously have no issue with drafting a player a few spots early to address their needs. Barry Richardson is a mammoth OT who will remind people of a young Jonathan Ogden.

9. Green Bay Packers- Justin King CB Penn State- Charles Woodson and Al Harris are both getting older and they have no depth behind them. King is a lightning fast corner who is quickly becoming one of the nation’s premiere defensive backs.

10. Houston Texans- Kenny Phillips S Miami- It was hard not going with a RB here but we feel Ahman Green and co are much better off than the safety situation. In a very weak safety draft class I can’t imagine Houston could pass up on the next great Miami safety in Kenny Phillips.

11. Arizona Cardinals- Derrick Harvey DE/OLB Florida- Arizona is switching to a 3-4 defense and they are in desperate need of finding a pass rush to go with it. Derrick Harvey is one of the best 3-4 OLB prospects in this draft and should help immediately.

12. Detroit Lions- James Laurinaitis MLB Ohio State- Detroit has steadily built one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL but they need to build up a struggling defense. Laurinaitis is an athletic linebacker that can play inside or outside and will remind fans of AJ Hawk.

13. Buffalo Bills- Malcolm Jenkins CB Ohio State- Back to back Buckeyes. Buffalo needs help in the secondary and goes back to their CB breeding ground Ohio State to find their next lockdown corner in Jenkins.

14. Kansas City Chiefs- Antoine Cason CB Arizona- The Chiefs really need to add some depth and youth to their CB corps and Cason is the top senior CB in the draft. His cover skills are among the best in college football and he should do very well under the guidance of Ty Law.

15. Atlanta Falcons- Frank Okam DT Texas- The Falcons have built up their pass defense over the last few drafts but still are weak against the run. Okam is a huge presence in the middle of the defensive line that should fix that.

16. St. Louis Rams-Dwight Lowery CB San Jose State- The Rams have virtually no talent at CB behind Tye Hill and with Fakhir Brown being suspended for 4 games early on it will show. Lowery might not be the most athletic corner in the draft but he knows how to find the ball.

17. Carolina Panthers- Mario Manningham WR Michigan- Even after drafting Dwayne Jarrett last year, the Panthers are still thin at WR. Manningham gives them another big time deep threat to continue to spread the field for playmakers like Steve Smith and DeAngelo Williams.

18. New England Patriots(from San Francisco)-Ray Maualuga ILB Southern California- Maualuga is a monster who will be able to immediately take over for an aging Tedy Bruschi and Mike Vrabel to solidify the middle of the field.

19. Philadelphia Eagles-Jasper Brinkley MLB South Carolina- The Eagles have nobody behind Jeremiah Trotter and that could be an issue with trotter getting up there in age. Brinkley is a solid MLB who considered entering the draft last year.

20. Cincinatti Bengals-Limas Sweed WR Texas- With all of Chris Henry’s legal issues there is no guarentee he’ll be back with the team so a replacement needs to be brought in. Sweed is a big time college reciever who will more than equal Henry’s red zone production.

21. Pittsburgh Steelers- Tommy Blake DE/OLB TCU- After losing Joey Porter, the Steelers need to find an explosive pass rusher to replace his production. Tommy Blake has been among the college leaders in sacks for years and should transition well into the 3-4 defense.

22. Jacksonville Jaguars- Andre Woodson QB Kentucky- It’s clear that the Jaguars are not entirely confident in Byron leftwich and David Garrard so it doesn’t seem hard to imagine they would bring in a player like Woodson. Woodson is a blend of both players with his above average arm strength and athletic ability.

23. New York Jets- Early Doucet WR LSU- The Jets have no playmakers at WR and bringing in a player like Doucet would help that offense immediately.

24. Seattle Seahawks- Martin Rucker TE Missouri- In a weak year for TEs, Martin Rucker stands out as being the best. Seattle, after missing out on Daniel Graham, needs a reliable TE who can be a presence in the red zone.

25. Baltimore Ravens- Jonathan Stewart RB Oregon- The Ravens jump at the chance to take a powerful back like Stewart to pair with Willis McGahee. This gives the Ravens one of the top 2 RB sets in the NFL.

26. Chicago Bears- Sedrick Ellis DT Southern California- After releasing Tank Johnson and losing two other DTs to free agency, the Bears desperately need to bring in a solid DT to plug the middle. Ellis is effective against both the run and the pass and should work well in Lovie Smith’s defense.

27. Denver Broncos- Ryan Clady OT Boise State- The Broncos have been known for their athletic offensive lines for years and Clady will help continue that tradition.

28. San Francisco 49ers(from Indianapolis)- Brandon Flowers CB Virginia Tech- Flowers is one of the best cover corners in the draft and when paired with Nate Clements, the 49ers will have one of the top CB tandems in the NFL.

29. Dallas Cowboys- Earl Bennett WR Vanderbilt- TO and Terry Glenn are getting older and the Cowboys desperately need to bring in some youth at the WR position. Earl Bennett is on pace to shatter every reciving record in the SEC–as a junior.

30. New England Patriots-Ray Rice RB Rutgers- It’s no secret that Bill Belichek likes to have two quality RBs to run his offense. Drafting a guy like Rice will give him a speedy 3rd down option to spell Laurence Maroney.

31. New Orleans Saints- DeMario Pressley DT NC State- The Saints have struggled to find an impact DT for years and failed earlier with Jonathan Sullivan. Pressley is an athletic DT who is able to get to the QB as well as hold the run.

32. San Diego Chargers- Jonathan Goff MLB Vanderbilt- The Chargers have really only one glaring hole and that is at MLB. Goff is an underrated MLB who has been a force in the SEC for years now.

A few interesting things (from a Giants fan POV) the Giants got 4 of the early projected first rounders. The Giants were severely underestimated last year (picking 4th?!?!?)
