Is there anything that Cheez-its can't do?

While I am admittedly no cook, I like to grill and try different things from time to time. I made up a simply delicious recipe based on what I saw on the internet and some modifactions.

Cheez-it Chicken

Take Chicken breasts and pound them down to about 1/4" thick or so. I cut them in two to make them more manegeable. Then dip them in beaten eggs with a little milk and coat them with a mixture of finely crushed cheez-its, some chipotle powder, some basil and some parsely. I don't measure personally. Then fry them in pan with about a half inch of oil until done.

Man. Those are good. Seriously good. Cheez-its rock.

never heard of that. I read where someone used crushed saltines and baked it but I thought cheez-its and sauteing was the better route.

You have a decidely unhealthy fascination with those little cheezy squares. They may just be the death of you.

  • 2 weeks later...

My mom has made a version of cheese-it chicken since I was a little kid ... it's a hugh hit in our home.

I'll try to get our recipe and share yours with mom/Muckette.

Our recipe involves covering the chicken in sour cream and then coating the chicken in crumbled up cheez-its ... putting on a baking pan, covering with some melted butter and then baking.

I can get details on the temp / time on the baking if anyone is interested...
