Mendenhall was walking alone in Chicago's South Side when he was held up at 2am. Luckily Mendenhall was not hurt in the robbery. This has been a tough week for Mendenhall. First, he was forced to sit out practice with hamstring problems, and now he is robbed at gunpoint. Look forward to May 16th when Steelers players need to report to Pittsburgh. I agree he is guilty of nothing and also have to say that I often find myself walking about the city of New Orleans alone or not at 2am. If he was familiar with the area he probably never had a 2nd thought about walking alone. Anyone can be a target and yes there are more bad people out at 2am but........ I work some strange hours very often and for me to be out at 2,3,4 am and getting to or from point A to B is no big deal and I don't give it a second thought. I am not ready to surrender my right to walk down the street no matter what the time of the day or night. A gun doesn't care what "shape" you are in. Sorry, but he needs to change his mentality and become a more defensive person.
