Mendenhall Robbed

New Pittsburgh Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall was robbed at gunpoint in Chicago on early Monday morning. Mendenhall was walking alone in Chicago's South Side when he was held up at 2am.

Luckily Mendenhall was not hurt in the robbery. This has been a tough week for Mendenhall. First, he was forced to sit out practice with hamstring problems, and now he is robbed at gunpoint. Look forward to May 16th when Steelers players need to report to Pittsburgh. Hopefully Mendenhall will be safe then and can recover quickly from his injuries and be a factor for the Steelers.

McNabb Looking Great

According to Eagles OC Marty Mornhinweg, "there's no comparison" between QB Donovan McNabb's play this year compared to last year.

"Donovan looks sharp, quick," Mornhinweg said. "He's throwing the ball well. Last year...there was still a lot of work to be done physically with that injury." With another full offseason to mend from a torn ACL, McNabb should be drafted as a middle-grade QB1 again this year.

Alexander To Visit Saints

According to NFL.com's Adam Schefter, RB Shaun Alexander is scheduled to meet the Saints Wednesday.

Alexander was supposed to have visited the Bengals, but they already have a broken down running back who can't catch in RB Rudi Johnson. We aren't sure where Alexander fits in the Saints' backfield. Alexander is already fighting for his fantasy life.

Bush To Testify in June

After months of legal wrangling, New Orleans Saints RB Reggie Bush finally will have to testify under oath about allegations that he received $291,000 in illegal cash and benefits from San Diego businessman and fledgling sports marketer Lloyd Lake.

Most thought this case had been swept under the rug, but Bush will actually have to testify soon. Whatever the case, Bush should be fine for the '08 football season. He will be in the high-powered Saints offense and should be a PPR stud, so draft him in the 2nd round at the latest.

Chicago is making Detroit look like a great place to live. Bad year for Chitown's public relations committee.

It's mostly on the south side.

Dam, Sox fans! :D:wacko:

Better than a DUI?

definitely, because at least he's not guilty of something. but it's the choices some of these players seem to be making that are putting them in bad positions that i continue to question. i'm not questioning mendenhall's morality or behavior, i'm questioning his decisions, specifically why he was walking around the city at 2 in the morning. and i'm really aiming this at players in general, i'm just not understanding the positions they seem to continually find themselves in.

I agree he is guilty of nothing and also have to say that I often find myself walking about the city of New Orleans alone or not at 2am. If he was familiar with the area he probably never had a 2nd thought about walking alone. Anyone can be a target and yes there are more bad people out at 2am but........

and maybe you're right, maybe it's all just relative, maybe it's only news because it's a football player. maybe i should've said that it's my opinion that if i was a 1st round rookie pick in the nfl draft of two weeks ago and in my first week of mini-camp, walking around at 2 in the morning would be the last thing i think i should be doing.

I am not sure about the area he was walking but you guys have got to be kidding when you think that at 2am you need to hide in your bunker. I work some strange hours very often and for me to be out at 2,3,4 am and getting to or from point A to B is no big deal and I don't give it a second thought.

I am not ready to surrender my right to walk down the street no matter what the time of the day or night.

It was probably more like a couple guys spotted him at a bar, knew who he was, and figured he had some cash.

nor do i expect you to, and really, i don't expect him to either. i'll stick by what i clarified above. if i was a rookie in the nfl with nothing forcing me to be out, like a job as you stated above, in my first week of mini-camps, i would not choose to walk around a city at 2 in the morning. i'm not trying to be righteous, i'm trying to put in in perspective.

So a 22 year old, in better shape than 99.9% of the city, out celebrating after being drafted in the NFL, made a bad decision by walking home?

A gun doesn't care what "shape" you are in. Sorry, but he needs to change his mentality and become a more defensive person. He's a target now, he needs to start making smarter decisions on what he does, when he does it and who he does it with.

Pulling a hamstring right after the draft....

Walking alone at 2a.m in Chicago....

Sounds like a potential drinking problem cause thats what happens to hammy's when you fill your body with alcohol instead of H2O........I hope not but the pieces are starting to fit.

I know I wouldn't touch him until at least the 9th overall pick in a Dyansty rookie draft.
